Slow Reaction time and Class Selection

I have hand tremors. These slow my reaction times. I have been playing an archer because they seem to be the easiest to play. However, they become Bards... and Bards have a LOT of stuff going on at the same time. Too many things I'm too slow to keep up. It was recommended I become either a White Mage (Conjurer) or a Scholar (Arcanist). Since I can use more macros and have more area effects rather than try to fight and sing at the same time. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
NOTE: I looked at tanks but I hate leading dungeon groups over and over. I noticed tanks are the dungeon leaders and always have the dungeon memorized so we can barrel thru at max speed. I'm a crafter at heart but have to do the MSQ to max my crafting...sigh.
I always try to pull my weight in groups but I'm too slow for a leadership role.

A simple class is the Red Mage, I would advice you look the class up, just know that you need to own Stormblood and have a level 50 class unlocked. Red Mage is pretty simple, their unique trait is called Duelcast, which makes every other spell an instant cast. In short you have 2 bars that need to be filled up, one is for white mana (filled up by casting white magick) and the other is Black mana (which is filled up by casting black magick). You cast Jolt, then proceed to fill up both bars. The only hard part (not hard at all) is to keep both bars balanced, so when you cast a black magick spell, next time cast white and vice versa, when both bars are almost full, you cast the melee combo.

Its alot simpler then it looks. I would advice you keep playing your Thaumaturge (at level 30 you can unlock Black Mage) As an Black Mage untill level 50 you only need to cast the thunder skill, Fire spells and when you get low Mana, cast ice spells.

This site shows everything about all the classes, including the skills and their effects: http://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/jobguide/battle/?utm_source=pr_popup&utm_medium=popupbtn&utm_campaign=eu_jobguide

My advice would be to either play as the Red Mage or Black Mage, both classes are simple, but from personal experience Red Mage is alot easier, from rotation to dealing damage.

If you enjoy ARC and want to continue playing BRD, there are some macros you can use to make things more manageable. In general, macros are not recommended because they slow a player down and provide less fine control over the order of actions, reducing damage output; however, if your hand tremors would slow your actions anyway, you might find that certain macros result in faster performance than you would get without, and consequently a higher damage output. Bard is in a unique position in that it has the highest consolidability because of its priority system.

Main attack button (After Straight Shot, your primary spam button for single target attacks)
    Code:
    /ac "Refulgent Arrow" <t>
    /ac "Refulgent Arrow" <tt>
    /ac "Heavy Shot" <t>
    /ac "Heavy Shot" <tt>
    /ac "Misery's End" <t>
    /ac "Misery's End" <tt>
    /ac "Bloodletter" <t>
    /ac "Bloodletter" <tt>
    /micon "Heavy Shot"
Note: will attack your target if you target an enemy. If you target a party member, will attack their target instead.

AoE button (After Straight Shot, on groups of targets)
    Code:
    /ac "Quick Nock" <t>
    /ac "Quick Nock" <tt>
    /ac "Rain of Death" <t>
    /ac "Rain of Death" <tt>
    /micon "Quick Nock" <t>
    /micon "Quick Nock" <tt>
    DoT refresher/exploiter
    Code:
    /ac "Iron Jaws" <t>
    /ac "Iron Jaws" <tt>
    /ac "Sidewinder" <t>
    /ac "Sidewinder" <tt>
    /micon "Sidewinder"
Sing (hit once every 30s to cycle through available songs)
    Code:
    /ac "Mage's Ballad" <t>
    /ac "Mage's Ballad" <tt>
    /ac "Army's Paeon" <t>
    /ac "Army's Paeon" <tt>
    /ac "The Wanderer's Minuet" <t>
    /ac "The Wanderer's Minuet" <tt>
    /micon "The Wanderer's Minuet
Special Songs (actions that can only be performed while singing, or Foe Requiem)
    Code:
    /ac "Pitch Perfect" <t>
    /ac "Pitch Perfect" <tt>
    /ac "Foe Requiem"
    /ac "Battle Voice"
    /ac "Troubador"
    /micon "Troubador"
and suddenly you've reduced about half of your abilities to just five buttons.

As others have suggested, give red mage a try. But for the love of cupcakes do not play SCH or WHM. While they can be macro'd just like any other class./job, healers and dps should never ever macro their stuff. Also you're not doing just 8 man content, were the other healer could help out, in 4 man dungeons you might run into severe problems, if your reaction is that slow and you on top of that, would have your heals/shields on macro. Now it's different with using macro's for fairy management but maybe you give it a try, after you're a bit more used to the game itself. Because not just tanks should know the dungeons, healers do as well, as well as knowing every mechanic in there, so they can pre cast heals/shields/aoe heals etc. Not knowing that, can be very overwhelming and frustrating.

I wouldn't recommend healing classes if you have a slow reaction time as they are dependent on you reacting to different situations.

As for DPS, as others have suggested, Red Mage is super easy to pick up and it's a pretty cool class. Black Mage is also pretty cool with potential for tons of damage, and given its slow cast times, it may be a good fit for you if you like it. In all honesty though, just play the class that you like the best. It's a video game and is meant to be enjoyed, so just pick what you like playing and whatever you have the most fun with. If you're not doing the most damage, so what?

If you're only doing the required dungeons/trials to get through the story and unlock the expansions, the story mode dungeons tend to be pretty forgiving about reaction times. Whether the party members you're grouped with are equally forgiving varies, though. (Some players get unreasonably demanding about wanting raid-level performance even for simple dungeons that don't require it.) If you can make friends with some people with a more laid back approach to dungeons and a willingness to run them with you, it can help. Have you found a good FC or linkshell with such people?

Red mage seems like a good fit from what I've heard (haven't unlocked it yet myself), but you'll have to play something else from 1-50 first. Bard could work for that. You might try Black Mage, too. The cast times of its spells forces a somewhat slower pace, and it's less support-focused than bard, which translates into more acting than reacting.

Well...we do need tanks that do not speed run dungeons.

For DPS: One of the mage classes could be best. Probably Red Mage.
For Healing: WHM would be best.

I would say SCH would be a lot better than WHM if you do decide to play a healer. It has a lot more to do compared to the relatively dumbed-down style WHM uses these days, but WHM is almost entirely reactive now whereas SCH has a lot of emergency buttons and shields it can place to preempt large incoming damage without relying on precision timing. Once you have the strategy figured out for playing SCH, you'll be able to buy yourself a lot of extra breathing space even if you're struggling to react at top speed. It's a pretty good choice for people who like having plenty to think about without having the twitch gaming skills some other jobs require (speaking from experience here).

Other than that RDM is very smooth as people say and a solid choice. BLM is a mixed bag, as the cast times really do help with reaction speed issues but in intense fights the same cast times can make the experience even worse than for jobs like BRD.

If just progressing through the msq is your goal I'm going to say samurai is a really forgiving... their basic rotations are just that, basic. The aoe rotation is a,b, a, c, sen, repeat... missing positionals won't break anything overall in basic content... and their engage and disengage attacks makes dodging easier... that's just my 2 cents...
