    This is so weird how you are all having this problem and some not. Wonder what is triggering it, but fortunately the tree will not stay and it is only up once a year, so the next time it is up, we will be on 2.0

    So good we can inform the devs, but remember to be happy that the next time the wrath of the green tree appears it will be under a new engine

    Its not killing my graphics card but it takes about 2-3 minutes for the event npc to load. I was told its something in my # of loaded pc/npc count settings though. As soon as I zone out to the field, everything loads fine. Also having the problem at the leve counter, takes 4 minutes or so there for npc's to actually appear. Players are loading fine though.

    Happens with my 5870. Viewing it from afar, FPS drops to about 10-15. If I move my character inside the tree, 3-10 FPS.
    Tried with crossfire turned on, and as I should of known, results were unplayable.

    Cards are not OC'd.
    Temp at 65c.

    AO turned off, AA turned off, depth of field off, 1920x1080 res (one monitor setup), all other settings set to highest.
    (Except for the ones I have set to 8 and 3 (i think distance draw quality). Can't access config since I'm in the game right now.)

    yes, the trees if displayed put out a decent amount of stress on cards.
    while i don't drop in fps, i see an increase of 30~40% of load on both of my GTX460 when the tree is fully loaded.

    I've noticed it too, my framerate drops significantly if I'm near that tree. It's not just that one either, I've noticed it with the other event npcs in Limsa and Gridania, as well as the treants by turning leaf
