Does this on my gtx480
Generally, outside of events, my card is always a few degrees hotter in gridania/shroud
and guardians of the grove melt my card like this too.

I would think it's your setup I have no problems like this on my ati 5470m in my laptop, I would check for driver updates.

My FPS drops a lot when I'm near the big trees in the middle of cities and if I'm near the trees walking around the moogle quest. I'm using an ATI HD5870, and that's really the only time I ever see lag.

This is your answer, the same effect but to a lower extent happens with the bushes in game or the trees in coerthas.

Same card, those trees are the only thing that lags me as well. And I can play 3+ games at the same time on this PC :<

maybe they can/will do a temp fix, at least for now in a future update, as it will defiantly be fixed with the new graphics egnine for 2.0

I can confirm this issue somewhat.
I have two 470's in SLI with watercooling blocks on both. They generally idle at 60-61C ingame.
As I walk into the tree and look around, they hit 65-66.
And as I move away from the tree, back down to 60-61.
Damn, that tree better fire missiles or something to justify that much of a load.![]()

my fan speeds up as well but not too terribly bad, I have a gforce gtx 560 ti ds

They need to cut out all the stuff within the christmas Trees. Problem is your loading more stuff which you dont even see. If you walk into the christmas tree you will see so many layers overlaping. Alot of them dont even need to be there.
Oh God..not the trees O_O
