Aquapolis needs to be more accessible now that we've got Lost Canals of Uznair

So I'm realizing that not only are things like the New World Set and the Cashmere Set literally disappearing from the Market Boards, but when they are there these pieces of gear are selling more than any of the new Stormblood glamour. I've discovered that there's two major reasons behind this: A) Most of these glamours have items that only drop in Aquapolis and B) Items like Fine Alumen which only comes from specific FC house voyages. While the obscurity of Aquapolis runs can and probably will be something that is fixed in a later patch, the utter lack of an alternate way to get Fine Alumen is it's own beast entirely, and because of it I suggest several fixes that could happen in order to prevent Aquapolis from being more popular than the new Lost Canals of Uznair.

    Fixing Aquapolis:
    • Make the Master Thief's Map a Scrip vendor item or a Tome of Verity item
    • Make the items specific to Aquapolis available for purchase from GC seal vendors (20,000 seals per item)
    • Make the Master Thief Map purchasable from both GC seal and Hunt Vendors (100 Centurio Marks/5000 seals).

    Fixing Airship Voyage Specific Items:
    • Have these items tied to a weekly mission drop from Adventurer Squadrons. Doing so will revive this old content and entice players who have not completed it to finally sit down and get it done.
    • Have these items drop in the Aquapolis if you fixed made the fix to make the Master Thief Map more available.
    • Make these items available through tomes of verity or scrips

Or we can just remove the level sync from Aquapolis, that will get more people to do it.

How about scale it up for level 70? Assuming everyone in the party is level 70. If not, it syncs down to 60. That could work too.

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

But Aquapolis is already easy as it is.
I assume it's just that people don't like the RNG.

I'm pretty sure it's because of the RNG of both the Aquapolis spawning and the depth you can go to is determined by chance. Making the Master Thief's Map attainable by players would ensure the spawning of the Aquapolis and cut down on the annoying part of the RNG that doesn't require a party to do.

But I'm pretty sure that whatever the new PotD thing is they've got planned will have pieces of old world and wool tops dropping like penny candy, much like Thavnairian and moonfire gear did, and make all of it absolutely worthless.
That's how it should be, this is old content and it serves no one to make the Aquapolis more beneficial to run than the Lost Canals of Uznair.

It serves no one to make old content beneficial to run? Where did you get this idea? I mean, granted, I know they're going to make it hilariously irrelevant likely as soon as 4.1 drops, but for now I still duo Aquapolis with a friend of mine. I still do canals as well so it's a nice bit of variety, if only for monsters and scenery.

It's not about making old content beneficial to run, it's about not making old content more beneficial to run for crafters who are looking to make gil than the recently released Lost Canals of Uznair. As of right now, not only does Aquapolis technically net you more gil per run on most servers due to massive inflation of the mats that drop there, but due to less people running it overall it's incredibly easy to corner the market and force players to pay the insane prices to get those items.

For example, that's like if the new Nintendo Switch came out and it's price was dwarfed by the Wii U just because scalpers cornered the market for them and raised the price into the $400-500 range.

But your solution is not only going to make the old content less beneficial to run, it'll outright make it not worth doing, ever. Which is what's going to happen anyway, but that's just another problem. And I dunno, if those players really have a problem with it then why don't they just do the much easier aquapolis and farm that for a while instead of the new stuff? Find a friend, you can 2 man it. Seriously, I do it all the time.

Not that I think running old content being more beneficial than running new content is a bad thing, either. Hell, level 56 rings sell for more than some level 70 ilvl320 gear on my server. That doesn't make it wrong.

I don't even get what your gripe with it is if you're talking from the money-making point of view. So the materials become super easy to get because everyone is drowning in GC seals... how does this improve it for the person who used to do maps to make gil? Now they only have one option to get rare drops from.

Easy to solo? With RNG mobs I have never been able to solo past 6(maybe it was 5). Also the ivl sync when you sync down to level 60 is below 260. Tested this and other people have responded lvl sync is below max level sync.

Not to solo. Removing the cap would change that. And the problem is getting people to go do it when you want to.
