MMO weren't a niche, MMO is a niche XD
it's nowhere near a LOL, DOTA, PUBG, CS, Overwatch or even a single player game. It requires a dedication that most ppl doesn't want to give. That is why i said it would be a niche inside a niche.
And I understand what you're saying, even though MMO is a niche its still lucrative. but let's face it, it would still be a niche inside a niche and VR is too new, almost none have it, FFXIV already don't have much resources i doubt they'll want to invest in something that will get just a little fraction of the playerbase.

Almost none so 1 million PSVR not including HTC VR and the Occulis rift can't spell it but i'm sure those have sold just as well as PSVR, how is that almost none?MMO weren't a niche, MMO is a niche XD

Yes, but the average MMO doex not require you to lay down for a $300 peripheral device. Maybe in a few years, if the headsets become more reasonable so that the install base gets larger, but at this point, no matter how cool it would be, it simply would not be profitable enough to justify the cost of developing it.

I think you misunderstand, the OP wasn't saying turn the game into a VR only game, he said to add a VR feature so that both VR and non VR players can play the same game, that gives the game flexibility for players to choose to go VR or non VR, just as it is currently flexible to choose to play it on PC or console.Yes, but the average MMO doex not require you to lay down for a $300 peripheral device. That's basically what I said lol just worded betterI think you misunderstand, the OP wasn't saying turn the game into a VR only game, he said to add a VR feature so that both VR and non VR players can play the same game, that gives the game flexibility for players to choose to go VR or non VR, just as it is currently flexible to choose to play it on PC or console.. Again would love to do some gathering in VR. Or some fishing don't want to play the hole game in VR. That's what elder scrolls will be for lol.

lol, almost related question, did you ever felt like you stomach drop on a roller coaster game in VR? or feeling heat coming from a virtual fire you standing beside off? I know it sounds freaky but playing on VR has a weird way of messing with my senses.

Yes That rush of Blood game did a number on my stomach lol. But for some reason when i played Fated and ur on the wagon it didn't make me feel sick at all. Haven't felt heat or wet yet will be looking out for that once Elder Scrolls SR comes out.

I felt heat playing farpoint, moving right beside those fiery debris and I was sure I felt the heat and I got the fan pointed right at me during that time (Fan helps with VR sickness), I also felt grossly wet playing Resident Evil 7, when I splash down neck deep in putrid water, lol that was intense

The first time I turned all the lights off and played Dreadhalls. Was totally immersed and ghost jumped out at me out of nowhere, scared the living bejezzus out of me. I kicked the couch (the general direction the thing was coming from) which made me think I kicked something irl I guess, ripped the headset and headphones off and went running into the living room flipping on the lights and screaming like a child. I haven't played it since lmao
That being said, having played a lot of VR games now from both the Oculus and PS VR, it would definitely be cool to have a VR side quest of some sort, even if it was additional cost, but I don't think they could just recreate the whole game for VR. VR games right now are equivalent to like, N64 era graphics, they'd have to remake most of the whole game I'd think just to accomplish it. That's probably why there was just the one titan fight spin-off.
So, it'd be cool if they released something in VR, but it would have to be something additional to the game I think, or just a certain section rebuilt for VR. At least until the technology makes significant strides in capability. But I have no technical expertise one way or the other, just my observations.
