    You stated it as the greatest reason, but it's not for a primary class you level. Main Scenario is there for your primary, it's a reason (crafting and gathering is) for your secondary, and evidence displays otherwise. This thread is even an opinion about how "Sadistic" SE is. When there's no true evidence to this. They are giving you an easy path to level both crafting and gathering, your personal playstyle on how you want it to play is a problem of your own doing. MSQ takes less time than before.

    On topic, MSQ doesn't take that long and you're gonna have to chew through it.

    However, I do agree that you should be able to craft gear that's atleast the same as the current level of MSQ. Let's say your quest is 68, you should be able to be in an area where you can gather materials to craft a 68 piece of gear.

    Being self sufficient in that way was possible in ARR, and not so much in HW considering areas got gated. You could still craft relevant gear and gather the stuff yourself in HW though (as far as I know) but in Stormblood it doesn't seem to be the case. Sure, you can buy the materials but that completely diminishes the point of self sufficiency.

    Again like I stated before, you're going to have to suck it up when it comes to MSQ but I agree with that the stuff you want to make at a lower level shouldn't be gated behind a 70 quest unlock.

    Someone also mentioned that HQ rewards are a thing, but that's limited. First and foremost it's one piece per quest, leaving the other classes in the dust and having you pick one War and Magic class. Second, the gear sometimes is below your level because you may be higher than the level of the MSQ gear.

    it will always be impossible to please everyone. That's why no game ever tries to do it. I think its safe to say, most people do the storyline when they play.

    Rather than complaining and making threads, by the time you finished the arguement, you might of finished the story and actually got stuff done. Glad people love arguing over something rather than getting things done. ^_^

    So, while I get there are numerous work-arounds, I can see the original poster's point. The point isn't whether or not you can work around the problem (you can, and I did)... the problem is that if a node is available without flying, the entire node chain should be available without flying. Or, at the very least, the minimum number of nodes to keep the chain going. You shouldn't be forced to switch zones back and forth to refresh the nodes because you don't have flying unlocked yet. It's not a question of how easy it is to unlock flying, or how easy it is to level up without the item... it's a question of whether the design creates a negative experience that could be easily avoided by moving the node 5 feet to the left and 20 feet down.
