Unless you also think those statements are fair, why shouldn't people who enjoy FFXIV PvP get updates to content they enjoy? Keep in mind, the eight hour maintenance was for infrastructure too. Not just PvP.
I should clarify that just because I think WoW's PVP is better now thanks to 4.0 completely gutting most jobs in XIV PVP (IMO) doesn't mean that I don't think it should get updates or that I'm buttmad over the maintenance time. Mostly just remarking on my dislike of the XIV PVP changes that have been creeping into the game since the chat ban back during season 4.

I'm torn between BNS technically having the best MMO PVP ever or it being a pile of cheesy unbalanced garbage like aerial combo WLs/BMs. Such a strange place PVP is in in that game - it's exhilarating, but also feels more like waiting for your opponent to screw up than actually outplaying them. Crowfall intrigues me but I feel like too much power is gonna go into which guild zergs up and builds a super Eternal Kingdom thing first. Camelot Unchained is definitely gonna be a zerg v zerg brawl until game population dies down, then it might be fun.

Classes in XIV just don't translate well to PVP, IMO, and that fact has only gotten more pronounced post-prune. AST continues to be garbage because cards do not an effective PVP tool make, and with no Sects available it's easy to see what flimsy design the class has without that gimmick. A hybrid mage/melee like RDM just plain sucks for PVP design, too, especially when it's strength in PVE is clearly the heal/rez utility it brings. Not saying RDM should have those things in BGs, just pointing out an example of how classes are obviously designed with PVE in mind first.
