Any "infrastructure maintenance" that takes 8 hours should result in said maintenance personnel being fired afterwards. We already had a stupidly long maintenance when they moved the data centers. Stop with the walmart quality IT department already.

As someone that works as a systems admin for a webhosting company, I have to vehemently disagree with this.

There are such things as hardware limitations.
