I am not an expert on PvP by any means but when I can get to lv 10 in wow and pvp all the way to max level and not feel like a grind should tell you something. The reason for this is (least when I played im guessing be the same, don't see why not) is because they dont have to split PvP and PvE skills for balance (though I know they had a lot of issues with stun lock balance and rouges) However here I would not do that simply because how it is range attack favored (esp brd) and it is 1 map! in wow you get your second map at level 20, complete different mind set and objectives and there is several more BGs after that. Add on top of getting achievements for them is fun as well, and the thing is healers have access to most of them while a few is simply easier if you are a tank. I got an achievement where I score all 3 flags (so I have to go to opponent base, get it, run it back, and score with them not having our flag) do this 3 times without dying as a caster (elemental shaman) There is no way in freakin hell you get away with that as a BLM here. Also add you get vun stacks if both teams have each others flag for too long.
Basically the PvP crowd is small because SE does not devote time to PvP, balance it, and make content for it.

they are all fun to do, even with balance issues, here I found pre SB too reliant on burst or no one dies, and in burst, you can't stop bursting (like being able heal though it) really because they couldn't adjust PvE ideas for PvP properly. (Plus the innate latency this game has is unreal. I played on an EU server for wow and had less issue with latency then here when the servers where in Canada being so near me. I ran a 30-50 MS at any given point there while in EU wow.. I do not even know because i did not have to test it from it being smooth. I believe on average for me to EU areas is around 150 MS. Why the difference? because you did not need to wait for animation lock processing and other stuff that makes this game slow af.) You simply did not have this:

happening. To me that vid also shows input delay as well.
For wow's PvP balance I believe someone stated the base is the idea 1 DPS (or tank) can't solo a healer, and that was too easy to do pre SB with proper timings. In wow you had to coordinate CCs well to win, not just "who cares burst down xxx and they die because you kill people faster then a healer can recover from a solo 1-3 sec stun"
How you expect people to care about PvP here outside a small cult following when the development team puts so little into it and so much of their time reskinning content every 3 months and add to the high rate of turnover for making PvE gear outdated?
