I am really wondering if they will release another job mid expansion. I loved when they released Ninja during ARR. I broke up some of the burden of the game. What are your thoughts?

Probably 4.3, if it's going to happen. Gives them a bit of time to see where the class is at and adjust before 5.0. I really wish the class were a tank though, unlikely as that is, because earth and water based magic would be a great canvas to work with.
YES!!! A million times yes to a Geomancer Tank. I really need to update my job idea, XD
I like helping people with their Job ideas, it's fun to help them visuallize and create the job they'd like to play most. Plus I make my own too, I'll post them eventually.
Sorry to say but it's not likely going to happen. There are a couple of interviews where Yoshida has all but said as such.
http://www.novacrystallis.com/2017/0...naoki-yoshida/Yoshida: Currently there are no plans for a third job. Of course, there are a lot of people – myself included – who are looking forward to new jobs. Creating an unbalanced job or ruining existing balance is something we don’t want to do. We’ll revamp the system in 4.0, balance it, then maybe we’ll make another job.
http://www.ffxiv-eorzea.com/intervie...pan-expo-2015/We will still release some new expansion, we‘ll definitely add a new job. We don’t know if the development team wants to add new job during major patch update… They will say no.
If it doesn't happen, I wouldn't be disappointed, but if it does, I wouldn't be overly surprised. Ninja was something they felt was needed, and it drove them to make it. With the specific job name drops (Blue Mage in our mail, and Geomancer in Astro story), Stormblood bringing in a ton of "new blood", and them just recently announcing that it is "at the highest ever subscriber count" (meaning more funds to make a new job), it may be possible that they work on a job to release in a major patch. It could bring in more potential new blood and keep this "highest ever subscriber count", like OP said below and many felt the same...
I want Blue Mage and Dancer before I even consider Geomancer.
Not that I have anything against Geomancer but when I hear the term Geomancer, I picture a WHM with more emphasis on elemental spells than White Magic and as such, I can already picture the copy/paste job GEO would get; hell, I can even see them getting Stoneskin just to throw more salt on the wound and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
This is my worry as well, and I really don't want to see another caster on an already healthy list of casters. What I'd like to see is a self-enhancement class that plays like a spell weaving monk. A water style dps stance that boosts haste instead of damage for equivalent numbers but a faster paced playstyle, an earth style tank stance that uses hp shield mitigation like stoneskin but on a much more frequent basis. Have the trainer be from the Mol tribe in the Steppes and give the class a tribal feel so it intersects less with WHM.I want Blue Mage and Dancer before I even consider Geomancer.

I'm sure Square can paint a much better picture. I just want to see a tank that incorporates elemental magic into a faster paced playstyle than we have with the current set of tanks.

Pretty sure SE said they wouldn't do it again due to the imbalance rogue/ninja caused by being introduced mid-expansion.
But maybe they wanted to throw players off of too much speculation until they decided to bring in a prominent geomancer npc. We don't know how many versions of the ast SB quests were drafted before they finally settled on the one we got.
Geomancer is in game, they're called White Mages.
That's why Geo in FFXI and WHM have Stone I, 2, Aero, and a slew of other crossover abilities. Also why the WHM job page by SE calls them the chosen of the Elementals.
Can't believe how many times we have to say this.
Well a real GEO draws from all elements not just Stone and Areo
