I respect your opinion. But I do think that also a lot of players are unhappy by how 'wifey' and cute the Au ra's turned out to be in comparison to the badass male counterparts.

A little more customisation options would make both sides happy - e.g. height slider that allows us to make them a little bit taller (not talking about them being as tall as males here!), scale patterns, horn shapes, additional horns (not attached to the face you choose), more individuality to faces, claws/hands etc. There are a lot of things.

I'll be honest, I wasn't happy that SE chicken out in the end with the Waifu Look. Ultimately, I said w/e in that department but I do kinda agree with you in the aspect that I wish all the sliders were increased to 200% or at least 150%.

Wouldn't mind longer hairstyles if they did something about the clipping issues many of the longer hairstyles already have with various outfits and shields.

I think that was mentioned a while ago and is one of the core reasons the shorter styles are more popular because there's so much clipping with the longer ones.

You are correct, Yoshida said that the developers want to avoid clipping as much as possible. This is why we have so many short hairstyles and why they removed the black DRK aura (Developers did not like how the aura would clip when riding a mount) before launching Heavensward.

The sad thing is, I dont think the whole clipping thing will be fixed, which means the odds of getting a real long hairstyle will not happen. SE should have taken a look at TERA Online and see how they added their hairstyles.


* in TERA when a character has long hairstyles or the hair touches the shoulders, the moment you equip a chestgear that has a collar, your hair switches into a short hairstyle version. So long twintail turns into a twin bun hairstyle etc. For those that did not like this, they made it so you can pick if it becomes shorter or not.

Personally I would like to see the faces unlocked, a hight/weight (muscle & fat) hair unlocked with a slider option, and the clipping issue fixed. Then once the races are more customizable so we don't look like were cloned from 1 basic version of each face. (asking a lot but, literally no reason not to have more customization in 2017-18, regardless how bad 1.0 was or the likes.)

well they asked the community if they were ok with clipping and we said yes. that being said that was before it grew larger. Maybe they feel they can't just rely on people being "ok" with clipping long hair across the board now. As for the Au ra and designs in general, Yoshi kept getting push-back on any attempts to make more feral/monstrous PC races and as a result we got the dragon-waifus. if they ever do make viera they better leave the "fran" look alone!

(guessing the male au ra were the "compromise" result :P )

I think the size difference being so large between males and females fits with them being part dragon honestly. although it could have been the opposite since dragons are reptiles. I'd like to see a race with tiny males and big females lol.

It's Au Ra, not Au'Ra; or Au Ras even. The collective noun or adjective version would be Auri.
You would want female Auri to be taller.

I though Au Ra was plural for more than one? At least from what I gather in-game, the NPCs use Auri when talking about one person.
