The New Trailer

I couldn't help but notice what the new trailer did. It shows what happens between 1.0 to 2.0. It says who did what, where we went, how we survived. Now I am a little irritated by this. Wasn't the whole point of paying to play during 1.0 was to have a unique one-time storyline as a reward, that people who didn't pay for it don't get to see.

So since you started payments, the storyline hasn't been too inspiring excluding one or two parts. It's easily forgettable, most parts often repeat with thing as "Darnus needs to be stopped". You could have missed 90% of the story and not have to worry about it. That is very unappealing.

So we get a chocobo, and a discount on the price. That's cool, but I was looking forward to the story-line more. Now I question why I played all this time, when the story can now be viewed in one trailer.

Edit:So I apologize deeply. I finally was able to do "To kill a Raven". The cutscenes were amazing, the battle was intense, especially with the meteors slowly coming coming down.

When my friends got on the airship with me, and my brother, I got chills. By far the coolest parts are when they are all there.

The final part after the fight simply amazing. I know I complained about get praised by Grand Company officers alot was underwhelming and done too much. It was cool to see Jinrya being all "baaww oh you guys", then gives credit to Cid too.

The last part definitely was great. Just one negative thing is, I wish everyone from the fight as in the last cutscene at the Grand meeting. Kinda took all the credit it seems. The final fight was worth it, and that is our exclusive part when I sat down and thought about it. So I apologive for me out burst about the trailer please forgive me.

I can understand a player doing it. That's not the problem, SE did it. They told us the players that are paying are the ONLY one who get to know what happened. That trailer clearly says and shows what happens. That isn't fair. It should have been shown well after 2.0 launched if anything. Not before it. I don't know about you, but I enjoyed my time in 1.0

It will show in what you know, and the things you experienced. You get to see it first hand, over time with your friends and companions. Square enix can't force you to enjoy it but to feel entitled to the story alone is a bit of a stretch.

^ LIKED! I am enjoying my time in 1.0 and am really looking foward to 2.0 and hopfully all the new players it will bring. It's nice to know that I was here before the story that all the 2.0 players will know. It's always nice to have some backstory or history to a game.

get over it, theres no need to make a fuss about something you were going to figure out anyways, or maybe you shouldve been more cautious and not watched the trailer at all

I personally don't mind it at all since we all pretty much knew dalamud was coming to kick some ass. We are currently playing in "the world before" and I think that's pretty interesting in and of itself. We get to wittness the fact that defeating the primals helps gain their control of Dalamud, so they think.

I'm pretty sure theres a lot more to the story than just this trailer.

The trailer says nothing about why the Garleans have been attacking again.
The trailer says nothing about the Circle of Knowing and the Primals, and how they've been tied into the Seventh Umbral Era storyline.
The trailer says nothing about the Grand Companies coming together.
The trailer says nothing about how we've been trying to stop Nael van Darnus and his Meteor project.

All it says is that the Garleans are attacking (people not following FFXIV will have no idea that it involves Dalamud or even what it is) and gives us is a very vague explanation of what's going to happen. We've gotten plenty of content that only we'll be able to experience. I'm not seeing a problem here.
