    I don't really get what all the fuss is about..

    Extended maints have nearly always started earlier.
    This one is an 8hr maint.

    This one also appears to be "infrastructure upgrade" which might mean they are actually doing work on the NA servers to some extent.
    It might even be down to the NA server tech guys and when they are willing to work.

    It's not like this happens all the time. Barring the odd emergency maint, you guys in NA get it pretty good.. Quit your crying. The world isn't ending.
    Get on with other things. You will live. You will get to play the game after maint ends.

    It's not even like maints are all that regular to begin with . . . .
