Genbu - Byakko - Seiryu - Suzaku pictures in Far East World Map

If you open your map and go to world map - far east, you can see the four gods surrounding Hingashi. You think they'll play a role in the upcoming expansions? 4.x trials maybe?

Lore wise, maybe the people of Hingashi worship these as primals. we just havent encountered them yet.

This has been a fun debate for a while. Looking at the Eorzean side of the map - dragon, sea serpent, kraken - all have been seen in-game in one form or another. Chances are good these four might make an appearance!

But, as primals? We need something to bridge the gap from mythical beast to kami, lorewise, if they're to be summoned beasts. Are these beings worshipped? Right now they're as ambiguous as Phlegethon the Hedgehog wandering across northeastern Ilsabard there.

Seiryu does get a namedrop in the Stormblood Dragoon quests, so he's a little more real than the Phlegethon Hedgehog. And here's the very minor reference below:

Though something tells me we would not have much luck with this tale either. The story has existed for several thousand years; Faunehm only came to these lands a mere millennium ago.

Honestly, wouldn't even be mad if an Omega tier at some point. Though I would be all for a Warring Triad situation with them. -just wants to see the Four Symbols in game-

They will likely be the next 4 primals/trials ala the Warring Triad. We need 4 more doggos to make 6 to mirror the 6 ponies/birbs. Also, that giant blue crystal chunk sticking out of the mountain in one of the zones looks like a blue ice dragon's hind quarters. Wouldn't be surprised if the 4 Shinjin are "dormant" around the new expansion areas.

Funny thing is that a few months ago, I ate a Chinese restaurant that actually has plaques of Genbu, Seiryu, Suzaku, and Byakko on the wall. I pointed it out to my parents and I told them all about them based on what I knew in FFXI and reading mythology. I'll take a picture of the plaques when I go to the restaurant again. Funny thing is that the own there, who is Chinese, didn't even know the significance of those 4 creatures on the plaques.
