Agreed! At the prices they're charging the stuff really should be account wide. The MMO's I play charge typically $9-$12 for a single character outfit, some allow them to be mailed to other characters on your account. I don't mind paying that price at all. Charging me $18 or more for an outfit with no account sharing options, let alone no wardrobe to even store the outfit pieces in, so four or five more pieces to keep track of what retainer or wherever I stored it in. It could be the most amazing and beautiful outfit ever and no I still won't buy it due to the price to the lack of options to the hassle of it.

Alternatively to the outfits being account wide. If SE ever does figure out how to put in a wardrobe system. An account wide wardrobe would be just as okay.

This game does not encourage you to have multiple characters, sadly I highly doubt they would do anything regarding the lock considering it brings them money :/

I believe Yoshi-P explained it once that if they made all of the purchases account wide it would take up too much server space or something, because they'd need to add another "reminder" to one's account every time a new character is created. How true this is I don't know, but that was his answer of it. I believe it was asked about in a Live Letter Q&A not too long ago (if someone remembers and can link me to the actual source).

IMO I think all cash shop purchases in regards to minions, mounts, glamours, emotes should be account wide to all characters on the account while keeping consumables such as dyes and fantasia and furnature items as single character per purchase. Though the bigger annoyance to me is that if I make an alt on the same world as my main my alt doesn't have access to my house on my main or an easier way to transfer things from 1 character to another since I haven't found a way to mail anything to an alt either after making one as an experiment.

I still wonder why it basically isn't that way. Nowadays a MMO try to do the most account wide as possible especially to encourage people playing more. Gw2 is the best example for this. Even WoW, which launched in 2004, became more and more account wide, for achievement, minions, mount and even glamour. And here on FFXIV, launched on 2013, we're still stuck with everything linked to the character which doesn't motivate anyone to make another character. The only motivation would probably be a friend.

Interestingly enough we can share macros now between alts. Would be nice if they increased this capability to mounts, housing access and more. The having to pay for each item on mogstation for many of them there is just not fair and we already pay an additional monthly fee for our alts.

I agree that all this things should be account wide, but the macro example doesn't work cause macros are saved locally, on your PC. The server doesn't even know they exist.
