so fates are probably the only thing that keeps the open world in FFXIV alive and active, but i think the lack of people actually participating in some lesser known, underrated, or unrewarding fates makes the world feel less active.
so i would like to request a few additions that would probably make fates a little more interesting as well as make a few creative requests in order to motivate more people to participate in the fates.
present the number of players within the fate area
my first request may help players make the decision to participate in fates a lot faster while also maybe saving them a trip to said fate.
simply present the number of players, including their role, that are within the fate area. this will allow players to think ahead and decide either what role they should play as to help, if their help is even needed, or weather or not they would be getting help if they ever do decide to participate.
with this addition in mind, on to the next request.
extra rewards for a balanced party
so back to my first request; if the number of healers, tanks, and DPS are presented, then i would like to request extra rewards if there is at least one player of at least two roles participating within the fate, and even more rewards if you have one DPS, Tank, and Healer within participating.
boss fate rebalance
boss fates really suck when soloing them. they are either very long due your lack of DPS, or very hard due to your lack of damage resistance. that, or you are just unfortunate for leveling a specific class terrible with boss fates.
another thing that is bothersome about boss fates are the enemies around them, so this is going to be two requests.
one is to either decrease ADD spawn rate or eliminate it entirely unless they have a specific role in the boss fate. there is also the option to decrease aggro range for adds or eliminate it entirely if the boss. another good addition is to decrease or eliminate aggro range for the boss itself so that players can kill adds before attacking the actual boss.
honestly, there are a lot of ways to rebalance adds, but i feel as if something needs to be done with them in general.
now for the bosses themselves. there are two types of bosses, so this only applies to regular bosses and not unique ones. my suggestion is to specifically nerf the boss' dps by cutting out some of its heavy-hitting abilities, then unlock those abilities depending on the number of players attacking the boss, how low the bosses health is, or the role the boss is attacking (specifically a tank). this would make the boss fairy easy to solo for players with not as much damage resistance as a tank.
present more simple, yet valuable, rewards
for example, give us items such as materia or shards/crystals/clusters. perhaps one random HQ material/item related to the area.

so there are my suggestions. not really too specific or game changing besides the boss fate suggestion. i just really hate soloing boss fates in general, especially if they take up a lot of space within a certain areas (Dravanian Forelands), making it really hard to get EXP in the open world. other than that, the three other suggestion would hopefully motivate more people to participate in fates for the sake of better rewards.
