Pretty much this, and what games that do have it know that it takes months or even years to stabilize, and it's all a monetary loss until it does.

It could be argued that SE could tweak the price as needed so it would be a monetary gain, but to do that would require jacking the gil price to ludicrous levels, which would then mean that selling it would net gil income that would destroy economies unless it was set up so that selling it would yield far less gil than the purchase amount, in which that would lead to players either buying loads more or no one buying them, resulting in resources wasted when they could've gone to other, better QoL features.

Either way, it would just lead to a lot of people not being happy.
