    The state of old content and ilv sync

    Now that we are a two expansions in, its a fair point in time to discuss the horrible state of ilv sync in old content. Currently roulettes are a total bore given how poorly our gear is scaled down. Given roulettes are a core pillar of end game content, this is a problem. Personally I am of the opinion all roulletes should be synced to a true minimum ilv by default in order to retain feel the original experience, and more importantly the fun.

    I'm curious how others feel about this situation.

    Having recently been graced by the experience of a pre-20 dungeon with 3 even-level people....nope. Killing stuff with the same 2 abilities and taking 5 minutes per fight is not my idea of fun.

    now if they could somehow let us keep all our abilities and scale them down properly....maybe.

    It would have to be added to the duty by default. And running duties over and over again at minimum ilvl wouldn't be fun. It would just be a dragged out chore for most players.

    As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

    It's hard enough to save some dungeons from people who willfully ignore mechanics without ilv sync. The thought of wiping to Liavinne in Tam Tara HM over and over because we scrape the gear requirement and nobody is stacking doesn't fill me with joy here.

    I didn't find any of the dungeons to be particularly difficult when they were initially released. Though they were at least somewhat engaging, compared to now running a leveling or 50/60 roulette.

    this is actually impossible if you really think about it. take one job and actually try to do it then compare to a new character in that dungeon for the first time.

    You would basically assure that no one would do duty roulette ever again and would find a different way to get their tomes and upgraded gear. Or just make sure it's always turned off. So making it default would be pointless.

    The irony is that this would probably curb the big-pull mentality if it were required. But it would make DF runs horrible because you mix all sorts of different playstyles and skill levels and right now overgearing can help make up for some of this.

    You want to make a boring low lvl roulettes even more boring? Where's logic in that?

    New players already dislike FF XIV low lvl content(this kind of feedback is everywhere) and even Yoshida himself admitted that they want to rework it in the future.
    Because pressing 111111111111112 in level 30 dungeon is not fun. Not to mention, sometimes it took forever to complete it with sprouts.

    If anything, we need a faster clear/higher ilvl sync to carry sprouts faster in awful boring low lvl dungeons or a complete overhaul of available abilities for all classes at low lvl.

    Roulettes aren't there for the challenge. They exist so players don't get stuck. Considering how much gear and experience they just throw at you now during the old MSQ, I don't think difficulty is even on their radar when it comes to old content.
