I would say, leave it be... If you wanna have a manly character go for a Highlander or a Roegadyn, or if you want a middle ground go for the Midlander. I wonder where Lalafells fit in this lol...
They could add the option to customize bodies...like in Aion and Perfect World. That way if people want to make an elegant elf they can..or if they want a buff one..can do that too. I really hope this is how customization will be in 2.0. Every race imo should have some specific characteristics that make it unique..but also please SE let us customize our bodies a bit more.
Generally speaking elven characters depicted in a high fantasy setting tend to be on the effeminate side. I wouldn't expect someone wanting to play a manly-man type character to be looking to an elf as his avatar. That said, I would not be against the addition of a few more masculine options available to the elven males in 2.0.
