So the rotation is just basicly building up your 3 different combos and then using your finshing move. You also have AOE combos available which would be doing those 2 combos then doing the AOE finisher.. Not complex. I kind of like it. Its fun.

It gets a lot more complex later on when you need to add in Hagakure (which removes your Sen and can change you combos up)and Shinten. You also want to make sure Higanbana is up at all times and is buffed by Shifu and Jinpu at least. Then there's having to keep an eye on your buffs to make sure they don't drop, while avoiding Sen overlap and finding thr optimal time to use Meikyo.
It is the most difficult class to play? No, but there's a huge difference between someone who just spams the three combos and Midare and someone who uses all their tools.
I could be wrong, but I'm almost certain shifu does not affect the dot.
I don't agree it gets all that complex, even at 70.
The general idea is to use hagakure whenever it's possible (as long as you don't overflow with kenki). Best time to use Meikyo is when you have zero letters (kasha, gekko and yukikaze) but even if you have one using it isn't a bad idea (supposing you have the gekko letter you would do -kasha, yukikaze, kaiten midare, yukikaze).
Yaten + Enpi is your disengagement combo and Gyoten is your gap closer. Meditate during downtimes. Have Giganbana on the target always (unless the boss is about to die or go immune). Use Guren whenever it's up.
Job is very forgiving and very little punishing. Even if you use Midare and forget to use hagakure, don't worry, dps loss will be minimal (and if midare crits, your mistake will result in a dps gain xD), just use hagakure on the next 3 letters.
Sounds complicated but it really isn't.
This helped me alot thanks! Follow up question though -- im using all this Kenki that im getting from Hagakure on what exactly? As much Kaiten as possible or is that overly simplistic?
Don't forget the rear bonus for Gekko and the side bonus for Kasha to build your gauge faster. That's Lv64!? (I have been on in a week).

You last ability uses a lot of the gauge for 800 potency line attack for the first enemy hit. I use it when I can.

Basically you want to use a 3 Sen Hagakure while having between 40 and 65 Kenki, 65 is the threshold were you can use a 5th Shinten (Lv. 62 Skill), which costs 25 Kenki each. Ideally this means 40 Kenki -> Hagakure -> 100 Kenki -> 4x Shinten or Guren (Lv. 70 Skill) + 2x Shinten if Guren is off Cooldown
If neither Hagakure nor Guren are off Cooldown you use Kaiten + Midare

I am only level 61 on my Samurai at this very moment I am typing this, but what is your rotation for AOE? I keep using Fuga, followed up by Oka, then Fuga again, followed up by mangetsu, and then I use Tenka Goken, but I always find myself TP starved in long aoe fights (even with Invigorate). Should I be getting the buffs in the middle for better TP management?
I ask this since I can't find anything about Samurai AOE rotation other than using Fuga, Mangetsu, Oka, and Goken.
you made the same mistake like a few days ago were you compared rdm and smn on lvl 53... its nice to hear that you like the progress-playstyle of sam but you still can't judge the strength or complexity of a cls on that low level... : /
