Pretty sure it's Healer 101 not to Regen/Medica II before/immediately after a pull. The fault doesn't lie entirely with tanks. As a tank main from beta phase all the way to 3.2, I have to agree that tanks should get good. Even in the old days when emnity still needed watching out, I had no trouble pulling with regen as long as the healer wasn't rushing ahead of me. Now with buffs to tank enmity, there's even less trouble.
Learn to pull. Seriously.
Also, OP, not to make light of your plight, but I'm making a funny video about healers. . . I can use this![]()
Playing a tank, I've learned to instinctively click it off just to see if they're paying attention. If they whine about it, then I tell them to wait until after I have mobs pinned to me.

You have the right of it, Kazrah. It's a simple matter to overcome. However, if your healer doesn't bring any adds they get directly to you then they are completely at fault. If you have aggro and don't run to the tank, try to die with dignity.

And youre right in this manner, and if they run away and die, it is their fault, but it's even a legitimate strategy to allow the healer to grab adds with healer aggro (as long as they wont instantly kill them) and then the tank takes it off them, nobody has to move around the arena or anything.
But, when you are pulling trash, and the healer regens so they dont have to stop and cast to keep you alive from damage you are taking, its your responsibility to make sure you dont lose them. All it takes is one hit from flash/overpower/unleash or shield lob/tomahawk/unmend and they won't run after the healer.
Get good at pulling and don't blame the healer for you being unable to hit all the mobs.

I play tank and healer both, and running in head first without a single flash/lob is not a good way to pull at all. I see tanks do this all the time, and yes, they do lose aggro.
I never have issues with thrash pulls, because I use the enmity generating abilities that were given to me. Hell, a single flash or lob does the trick. The only tanks that are losing aggro are the ones that expect to keep aggro when all they do is run past mobs. So yes, you guys really need to "git gud".
As a tank for the majority of HW, and a good chunk of ARR, I actually like a regen while pulling. It tops me up a touch for the stray hits while I am pulling so I am a little bit more topped off when I reach the end.
Here is how you fix the problem-
Throw a lob or w/e at the group of targets you're pulling. This will get the mobs to start running after you.
Yes the healer will have hate on 2-3 of them, but that healer will be behind you.
Time your Flash as they're running through you and chasing the healer.
Problem solved.
You're always going to be between the path of the mobs and the healer on pull. Just get good at timing your flash when they run past you and it's done. Crisis averted.
Finally, if there are any stray mobs that you missed, the healer should be smart and be next to you anyway.. But if they aren't then just target the mobs on the enmity list that aren't red and give them a lob.

I make a game of it.
I click off the Regen as soon as I see it, and see if I can drain the healers MP by the next pull by having them constantly recast it.

I'm not supposed to do that?!

I react in 2 way for this: if my mood is good I remove the regen manually. If my mood is bad i leave him with his agro so he learn his lesson. And then there's those that keep spamming me regen when I remove it while I pull.

Sometimes it's just bad habits, honestly. I used to have Regen as auto reflex of my hand whenever my tank takes DMG. I used to do it EVERY TIME in The Wanderer's Palace when Speed Run just started to get to that dungeon. We would attempt to do a super pull, and my Regen would ruin the party's dynamic, and hell would break lose and we would wipe. Next pull I would be able to refrain from it, and we passed through the dungeon without any more issue.
Then, the next day, when we did that again, I would repeat the same error.
I kept getting reprimanded by my (static) tank everyday. Perhaps it took about a week or so to completely stop throwing a Regen before the pull is settled and the party was ready to start killing the mobs.
On a related topic, as a main heal, I am probably more pissed than you when my (Duty Finder) tank charged into the next mob to pull without waiting for 5 or 10 secs for previously applied Regen or Medica II to wear off (or just manually cancel the damn status) and made all the aggroing mobs run in the opposite direction of the tank to the back row to beat up on me. XD
