Question About Leviathan: When did The Levi flooded West La Noscea

Hello Everyone,

I have a question, When did Levi flooded West La Noscea? I believe it was a time before the Calamity which the company of heroes defeated him.

The Sahagin's previous spawning grounds had been destroyed in the Calamity and they needed new spawning grounds urgently because their children do this weird reverse amphibian thing where they're born on land and their gills aren't functional until they hit puberty. Leviathan helpfully scoured a patch of coastland clean for his followers so their children wouldn't all drown.

There used to be a hamlet beyond South Tidegate in western La Noscea. Halfstone, 'twas called. Some years prior to the Maelstrom's founding, Leviathan rose from the briny depths, and set about unleashing watery hell upon us. On that occasion, the Company of Heroes put him down before he could do too much damage. But when the bastard came next, this time in the wake of the Calamity, we were not so fortunate. Weary of ravaging our shoreline, he summoned a tidal wave which fair leveled Halfstone, and washed the soil away for good measure.

So who got rid of Leviathan the first time I wonder?

Moose's quote from Merlywb specifically states that it was the Company of Heroes who destroyed Leviathan the first time. I recall there was further info mentioned about how they did so - they lured Leviathan into an inlet which they trapped him in with warships, then proceeded to pound him into submission with cannons, but I'm unsure of the specifics.

This is why the player needed the Whorleater to fight him - Leviathan was stated as not falling for the Company of Heroes' trick again and was learning from his defeat, thus he stayed out at sea and did not come close to shore, necessitating him being fought out in open water. I'll go looking through my screenshots and find the relevant into about it.

EDIT: okay, it seems there was no specific mention about cannons being brought to bear against him, but there was mention (by Y'shtola) about the Company of Heroes trapping Leviathan in an inlet where his power over the sea was diminished:

Y'shtola: "The Company of Heroes defeated Leviathan having first lured him into an inlet, but we must needs contend with him upon the open sea. It will avail us little to consult past experience."

This is further elaborated on a short time later by Eynzahr:

Eynzahr Slafyrsyn: "By all accounts, Leviathan's most formidable weapon is the very sea itself. Waves and whirlpools, tides and currents-all these things are his to command. The key to victory, I believe, lies in disarming our foe."
Eynzahr Slafyrsyn: "This, in effect, is what the Company of Heroes achieved with their ruse."

So basically, the Company of Heroes trapped Leviathan in an inlet where his water aspected power of the ocean was sapped from him, allowing them to fight him and destroy him. How they did this is not clear (I presumed they fired cannons at him until he was destroyed, but it's more likely in hindsight, that they used the way they dealt with Titan), but the fact remained they did succeed in destroying him. Not for long though as it turned out (to Halfstone's sad chagrin).

So basically there were 2 events Levi awakens

1 - When the Company of Heroes beat him - "Some years prior to the Maelstrom's founding, Leviathan rose from the briny depths, and set about unleashing watery hell upon us. On that occasion, the Company of Heroes put him down before he could do too much damage."
2 - Wake of the Calamity - "But when the bastard came next, this time in the wake of the Calamity, we were not so fortunate. Weary of ravaging our shoreline, he summoned a tidal wave which fair leveled Halfstone, and washed the soil away for good measure."

Is the second instance connected with the game events? or there is a 3rd instance, which is the game event. If so, who beat levi on the 2nd?

Perhaps the summoning after the Calamity wasn't a full summon; maybe it was like the final boss of Xelphatol summoning Garuda for an attack (their Queen partially summoned him to Tidal Wave the coast for her spawn or something like that. Lominsans would still see that as Leviathan coming and wiping the town out )
