I haven't tested it, but if elemental potency isn't affecting the stances then it must be a bug.

Pugilists are the only Disciple of War able to slot elemental potency into their weapons, and the other DD get to slot critical attack power into theirs. How could it not be intended?

Yup. That was my reason for testing. Elemental potency can and should be considered separate from magic. It's potency with that element whether it be physical or magical.

I haven't had success in determining a difference in damage in magic spells using elemental potency either. The elemental potency stats may very well be bugged.

I think it just takes a larger amount then what we're using. Be honest with yourself. Do you see a huge difference in damage when you add str+21(via rings)? Or Atk+30? Someone who did a huge test using these amounts so a difference of at most 10 damage. Now Consider this, the materia can go in two slots, weapon, and feet. It caps at +30. So if you're using +20, when youcan quite easily get +60(okay, not easy. The element materia only comes from weaposn) you will probably not see a very large affect. It also seems SE wants us to multi-bind, or they wouldn't have even added it. So if you were just to double-bind both of these once, you're at 120. I think you would surely notice a difference then.

I have both feet and a pair of hand-to-hand melded bringing fire potency to +40... 0 dmg difference :P

I think your better off doing one of the following right now on PGL

    1) Use Ifrit's claws w/ a harness(crit atk power) and felt gloves(double attack or triple str) for some accuracy because you do start to miss quite a bit on higher level mobs.

    2) Use Mog fists (I do this) try to get like +100 crit power body body, use mercenary trousers/ul'dah ones for +atk, sipahi gloves for more crit rate (bring you to +30)

I think either option will be viable for some great damage output, option 2 is harder to achieve but will give you very high accuracy and damage potential! Where as option 1 you will miss much more but damage will be more consistent. I would not bother with any elemental potency until they change things with it (I did it when they were cheap)

Haven't done any testing myself, but people in thm forums were trying to test lightning magic potency and some said it did nothing. It's possible the elemental potencies are broken....?
