    Skill Speed and Warrior

Is there an X-hit number to correlate skill speed with when Inner Release is up? I feel like i'm just shy of getting off another fell cleave, but I really don't know how much more is needed to get the job done. I've just been weaving in Upheavel and Onslaught so I don't waste the bonus, but there's another fell cleave there somewhere.

What rotation are you using and what's your gauge at? Seeing that might help better answer your question. That being said I've never had a problem getting off 6 fell cleaves in a IR without putting too much effort into it.

It likely has more to do with where you are inside a combo/how much gauge you're starting with. At 1027 SS (have not attempted to min/max SS yet) my GCDs are 2.4, and I've haven't noticed a time where I barely missed an important global at the end of a zerk yet.

    I'm 1007 Skill speed, and 6 isn't a problem, just feel like i'm close to a 7th but can't get it off.

If you'really that close, it sounds like you could hit it by swapping out some materia. But is it worth it if the 7 cleaves do less damage than the 6 you're already putting out?

Probably - I think SS is actually pretty good for war. Almost all of their damage is from on-gcd, resource spenders, and auto attacks.

Having enough SkS to do 7x FC under Inner Release and 4 without it is really satisfying to do, but it's really a sub-optimal use of your beast Gauge. Without considering how much the SkS will cost you in raw damage from Det or Crit, having enough to do 7 FC under Berserk + IR is a potency loss vs just doing 1 Onslaught and 1 Upheaval at full health.

Given the nature of those being oGCD, you'd gain 400 potency for doing them compared to the 500 from a final 7th FC. But your final FC would be replaced by a Heavy Swing @ 150 potency. 400 + 150 > 500. Also you'd have 5 Gauge unspent, and be 1 GCD closer to your next Gauge building move. I personally noticed 80-100 dps increase (calculated using SSS dummy health ofc) when I switched from the extra FC spam to the more frequent Onslaught +Upheaval usage.

I personally would not waste beast gauge over a 100 potency attack that would compromise using 6 cleaves + upheaval during your Inner Release

7 cleave is actually possible but a dps loss since the sexcleave has onslaught onslaught upheaval which is 550 Vs FC's 500 plus the GCD cost where the other 3 are oGCDs.

I can do seven-cleaves with decent consistency at 637 SKS and 150~180ms ping. Remember to Inner Release AFTER you Berserk.
You only do seven cleaves in the opener anyway. Afterwards you replace the seventh with an Upheaval and two Onslaughts.

But the thing is, everything about WAR lines up according to a GCD of 2.5s.
Your burst windows are about 20s long. They come every 60s. This leaves you 30-40s between windows, which means you get 4-5 GCD combos + a Heavy Swing that leads into the next.
You're not "gaining" any damage from that Skill Speed (and certainly not enough to offset Direct Hit/Crit/Det melds)
