What next for the FF14 storyline?

As others have said the story will continue in patch 4.1. With how 4.0 ended, I think in 4.1-4.55 we will see the following things resolved:

- Doma is free and Hien will ascend to the throne. How will Doma move on?

- Ala Mhigo is free, but since The Mad King is dead and its heirs are missing, there nobody to take a formal leadership position. Lyse is now the leader of the resistance, but will the rest of Ala Mhigo accept her? We also have the whole old generation vs the new generation conflict going on, so I would not be suprised to see some pro-empire Ala mhigans causing some trouble.

- Empire lost two regions, there will be an retaliation from Garlemald. We have also seen that the Garlemald and the Ascians are working toghter so expect trouble. What are they working on and whos face is it behind the Ascian with the white robe?

In the end I think it all will lead up to the WoL standing infront of the gates of Garlemald, this is assuming 5.0 will be in Garlemald.

well if we take into consideration of what we are shown at the end of SB we can already assume the direction the story is taking namely:

Elidibus is plotting something with the empire but Varius is suspicious of Elidibus' intentions until he removed his mask revealing what i can only assume is a face from Varius' past or possibly even the face of the very 1st garlean emperor.

The domans are rebuilding their civilization and life under Hien, the former emperor of Doma/yanxia 's son.

Lyse is using the resistance to help Ala Mhigo rise to its former glory and may have help from Raubahn and his immortal flames.

and there are still primals lose in the world that need to be dealt with etc.
