I haven't logged into this game in a few months, having lost interest in it completely not long after launch.

Today I logged in, and the christmas music started, it was snowing in town. SE has always had very good music in their games, and this brought about a level of nostalgia for me.

I played ffxi from na launch till late 2008. I remember the first time I logged in , my taru was in jeuno during christmas time in 2004. Something about the christmas music, just gave me an overall good feeling. It was hard to describe. Xi has still been my best online gaming experience ever, for 1 reason. The community. I've played numerous mmos and the dullness and lack of attachment, and in some cases, outright hostily towards other players in just about every game I've come across really made me miss my xi days.

I play late nights na times. I remember sitting in jeuno with a friends just looking for people asking for help in chat. It was fun, we made new friends, and helping people do quests, complete af or limit breaks, just felt good. This kind of community is 100% lacking in every game I've played since, I hope the xiv community will keep that alive.

I really miss some of my friends of xi that I don't talk to anymore, and even some of the people I didn't know so well, but logged in and saw them in game almost every single day. Aldwin-Midgarsormr server saying hello to anyone reading this from that server as well, if you remember.

My apologies for going on an xi rant, but i wanted to log in to say I still have very high hopes for this game. And while I may not be playing it, I know SE can recreate the magic they have done so many times before.
