FFXIV is not Dyslexia friendly, can we at least get off "One exchange per lifetime"

I agree that the one-time restore, should no longer be a one-time restore, but still needs to be a limited amount, I would've though 10 or 20 is enough, maybe increasing every expansion.

As far as the dyslexia goes, my boyfriend has it and he disagrees with the case of the materia and the accessories. Accessories have different icons, and stats, so he pays attention to the stats moreover than the icons. In regards to materia, he notices the length of the word before the letters, so he knows the longer one is SpS, and short one is SkS.

But that's just my boyfriend's outlook. I'm indifferent to the situation.

Yeah, I really like what WoW does with it's completely automated item recovery.

You can buy sold stuff back from vendor NPCs so long you don't change the zone.

Token NPCs give you a warning if the item you want to buy is not for your current job

Don't auto-click OK and start to read

If the devs bring a refund policy for the token NPCs ingame, then it should only work so long the item is still at 0% spiritbound (fresh and not used) and the player have not left the zone.
Or just bring 1 or 2 more warnings to check if you really want that one item and not another item, with "No" highlighted as standard for those who just click Return without reading.

I've done this sort of thing a few times before, each time I accepted it as user error. Can't blame the game for this.

Haste makes waste, etc. If it's something valuable enough where you'll feel burned if you buy the wrong thing, triple check it before you buy.

There is no time constraint behind selecting these items. I don't have dyslexia or poor eye sight but I still check a million times before I make purchases. I agree the names are similar but if you just take your time you won't make mistakes.

Yea I see where OP is coming from but what you say is true. It's not decision making that needs to be done quickly. I also double, triple and quadruple check every time I purchase anything that costs a lot or doesn't cost gil. It wouldn't hurt for SE to make some items have more distinct names and icons, but being very careful and taking your time should be enough to get by. If it isn't for some people then I wonder how they deal with much more serious things like banking and signing official documents.

However it's not funny to mock op for being dyslexic. Jokes about needing to go back to school are in very poor taste. No amount of schooling is going to erase dyslexia. That's like telling a blind person to keep going to the opticians. It's a disability, not laziness or lack of education.

I'm partially blind and have made this mistake a few times - which is why I'm *incredibly* careful about what I keep and throw away. But since we're on the topic of legibility suggestions, can we please replace that dark blue-on-black text that shows when you're looking at someone's glamour? It is so hard to read it's not even funny.

As someone who has worked with kids with dyslexia in the past (I'm a elementary school teacher) I know some of these kids have equipments to help them reading, such as glasses, or transparent plastic sheets or whatever.

If OP is having trouble reading, maybe they would want to check on these? IIRC a student used to have green hued glasses.

If it is about the naming, maybe it can work if the names are in 2 colors

example:

Genji Oyoroi of Fending

But I'm against a refund for token NPCs without some restrictions (the warning should be enough to read the tooltip a second time)
