I agree that Coil felt like an adventure and was really well made considering the PS3 support that had be handled. The fights were not that amazing though ( except T5 , T9 , and the Phoenix one maybe ? ) but they felt less mechanical.

I have to agree, but part of it is because I thought Coil was amazing and had that real epic feel.
I didn't feel that with Alex, and I am getting a similar feeling with Omega.
Can't explain why, but perhaps it's just the fact that raiding in this game was a "new" thing to me (never played WoW).
Coil felt like you were actually running through a labyrinth. Alex began to feel like over-hyped trials, and Omega is starting to feel similar to me as well.
Perhaps Alex just turned me off quite a lot. The music didn't appeal to me at all, and the lack of lead-ups to the trials was kind of dull as well..
Was pretty much a trial in a different shell.
I feel the same way. Coils were just an epic fun adventure. Alex bored my face off, and I have no desire to do Omega since it seems to be following the same line as Alex....I want the epic adventure back.....Not multiple trials....It's not even about the difficulty...bring back the epic...
"Within each of us, the potential for great power waits to be released."
That's because there wasn't just the boss in Coil, there was a path to the boss or unconventional things. Remember how in T1 we had to go through a maze and had to kill everything just to reach the end where Caduceus was? Or the amazing elevator ride of doom in T4? Or how in T7 there was another maze with mobs you kill or avoid to reach the boss? You didn't get those in Alex, and you're not really getting them here in Omega. It feels like a downgrade. Imagine if we had to go through paths like the solo instance from unlocking Omega just to reach the bosses. And the path was a maze or changed. It'd make things more interesting, that's for sure.I have to agree, but part of it is because I thought Coil was amazing and had that real epic feel.

The folly of 1 raid tier being harder nearly killed raiding in this game. But, as usual some people are incapable of learning from history and are doomed to make the same mistakes. So, now we get this foolishness of whining that Omega is too easy and wishing for it to be harder because, as the OP says Omega Savage is "too easy and not fun".
Yeah, demanding harder raids previously resulted in 1 raid tier with very tight DPS checks that had raiders leaving the raiding scene and/or game in droves. So let's do that again, because some surly players are convinced that the current raid is too easy.
What could possibly go wrong?

I don't want harder raids. I want more floors similar to the old days of Coil. You know, a path to the boss, players having to go through mobs and unconventional things to reach them, and then the fight. I want more substance than a simple "Here's the boss, kill him."The folly of 1 raid tier being harder nearly killed raiding in this game. like 3 floors in coils even did that and only one of those floors had any effect on the fight. Last time i checked we have those they are called dungeonsI don't want harder raids. Gordias was not properly tested-- something the devs themselves acknowledged. The difficulty spike from A2 to A3 was enormous, though what killed it for many is how boring even the hardcore raiders found A4. Midas, on the other hand, was far better received as were Thordan and Sephirot. Unfortunately, the damage was already done. After the disaster that was Gordias, they should have gone with Creator difficulty first to assuage players, then came out with Midas. That all said, there is a middle ground between easy and mind numbingly brutal. It seems every time people criticise the difficulty, we get posts like this that only assume they want the hardest fights imaginable. How about fights that aren't dead in twenty minutes ala V1S? Even more casual statics for downing V1 and V2 within hours of their release. That leaves only two fights offering an actual challenge for what is supposedly the hardest tier content.

Not sure that gordias was not tested proeprly, in multiple instances Laylabell said that the raid tier was made harder on purpose, both to satisfy ppl asking for harder content than final coil and to give ppl something to be occupied with because of the 2 months of vacation he gave the team, can't say if that's true or not, he does claims it was said in some interwiewsSigh.

But wouldn't you have the exact same repetition people are complaining about now? A maze stops being an adventure after one or two times, and for a lot of people would just feel like filler. That's because there wasn't just the boss in Coil, there was a path to the boss or unconventional things. I agree with you there, coil was epic pre nerf and it felt really an achievement once u beat it. The glamour was good too and oh god I can talk days about my coil experience, it was the best in ffxiv and still memorable. I loved the trash mobs before u went to boss and the story was amazing with bahmut. I personally love the lore, the exclusive cutscenes ppl that couldn't beat it were unable to experience and felt like a real middle finger when they introduced Alexander with normal mode and savage mode etc - didn't feel exclusive anymore where a random could just see the same cutscenes as someone who beat savage. Imo they should bring back coil T14-19 yes please ! No savage mode: the normal mode should be super savage imo.
