RMT Spam in the Novice Network

Is anything being done about this? The suspicion is growing that a malicious player is intentionally inviting new bots into the NN just for the purpose of spamming it with a bot account. On the Coeurl server it's happening multiple times per day, and there's nothing mentors can do about it.

We can't kick them because they leave instantly after spamming the message to avoid the kick so that they can come back later to spam again. Even if we did manage to get a kick off, that would only keep them out for a minimum of 30 minutes.

Given that the bots do seem to be using random name generator names from the character creator, it can be an honest mistake that a mentor might invite one by mistake, but we've pretty much spread the word multiple times to avoid inviting level 1 players into the NN just to avoid this.

Seriously, it shouldn't be that hard to know who invited what bot. Once or twice inviting a bot? Probably an honest mistake. Habitual sender of invitations to bots (especially if the invitations are *only* to bots)? That's the guy you should get a GM to investigate.

By the way, please sort the NN player lists by player name. If I wanted to be proactive and try to kick such a bot before they can get their repeated message off, it's near impossible when the list is in the random order it's currently in. There are other legitimate reasons to want to find a specific player in the list when you know their name (such as to look up search info on that player easily), and it's just a real pain currently.

They are ordered based when you join I believe, so you may want to look at the last page ASAP.

Like I said in a different thread, you do not know if the person inviting them is doing it by mistake or trying to blacklist them or what, a simple solution is just have right click >report for RMT, auto ban them from the network, while sending the notice to a GM. This way if it is abused and someone does that to abuse it, the GM can go after the abuser as well.
