Is FFXIV incredibly "clingy" for anyone else?

What I mean is that, whenever I try to alt-tab out to, say, open Discord, XIV seems to have this "separation anxiety" where even clicking something else on the desktop will just bring XIV back to the front (this is when in fullscreen mode, which is best for performance, I find).

I typically need to open the start menu and then maybe I'll be able to open Discord.

Anyone else have this issue or a similar one?

No, alt-tab work like a charm for me but I use borderless window mode.

Not clingy at all. I hit the PS button on my control, and it goes to my dashboard right away.

If you use full screen, it is. I have found it will "disable" gifs etc. in the process. If you play it windowed, like I do, then it stops doing that.

My problem with doing windowed is that it always reverts the game to 1080p instead of 4K with no way to change it. :/

Play in borderless windowed mode and set your gsync to function with fullscreen and windowed mode. If you have a plain jane 60 hz monitor, then you can just set it to boarderless windowed.

set a custom resolution under windowed mode to the 4k specs, then switch it to borderless. the grayed out area should be what you set it to in windowed mode. For me, I have a 1440p screen that I use in borderless windowed mode because there is a bug in windows that messes up your Nvidia color settings and alt-tab'ing out would case a revert in fullscreen. But borderless windowed, A-ok.
