I'm not exactly sure why having three judges that I've selected are to be a buzzkill. You have to remember this is a collaboration event, with all the major RP groups of the FC (That are on my radar, I'm sure there are others that I hadn't had the pleasure of meeting yet!) with people that I feel are respectable and charismatic. See the Charisma is an important thing, because having character is important to make the contest fun for all viewers instead of just a boring drab wait. It's the difference between excitedly being apart of the fun, and AFKing/Tabbing out waiting for your name to be called so you can hit a macro then leave for another half hour until winners are called.
Additionally you have to remember, we're scaling to expect a lot of guests, so these judges are people who also have their own crew of FC members to help assist in preparations. Also these are people that I know would be committed instead of flaking. When pooling this amount of resources, gil, real money for artwork and getting time off for work you have to ensure that the investment has as little chance of falling through. We hadn't picked a winner yet, why? Because we honestly don't know who will show up yet!
As a final thing, the grand prize is crafted stuff, and just gil. What use would there be to putting this much effort into bringing the community together, to have fun with people we haven't even met yet if we just wanted to give 24 Million Gil to a friend? We didn't raise the gil through community outreach or donations, we just pooled 24 million of our own together. Most of of our FC members have well over the hundreds of Millions in gil, and those who don't easily float between the 40-80 Mil median. If we just wanted to give 24 Million gil away, we could easily do that without making a big show about it. Heck, the bulk majority of us could do that without even blinking this second and still have what it takes to host the contest.
I've been hosting events successfully, and with great rapport for 3-4 years now. I know that you probably don't know me, and that's completely fine! It's a pleasure to meet you for the first time, I hope that even if you don't participate in this event that you can see that I play things honestly and we might see you at our Halloween event in a couple months!
