What you call fun, I eventually grow bored of. Whenever I'm on healer, I loathe "safe" tanks who pull one pack at a time-- so much so, I started playing "how long can I go without casting a single heal, not even regen?" It's amazing just how long you can actually stretch that. Why do that? Because it's very boring otherwise. Single packs do negligible damage at best, and I'm not going to force pull. Now I do enjoy taking in the scenery and explore a bit, which I did when first queuing into each area. I'm also more patient with bonuses. After the fourth, fifth, tenth time though, the novelty has long worn off. I prefer big pulls because I'll actually have to heal.

That's a self inflicted wound though. I've played since Beta 3, I'm already ilvl 315 and haven't run any dungeon in the game more than 20-30 times in the entire life of the game, except possibly the first 3/4 ARR dungeons, but even then, I don't think it's many more times than that. People choose to run and rerun certain instances to quickly grind out the relics. That will burnout the player on that content for sure. but it's self inflicted. You could just as easily take your time.

I understand your frustrations, but if you want to take your time, you're better off making your own group in PF or with FC members instead of getting upset with random people in DF. If you don't want to do that, then your best bet is just speaking up and asking if the tank can slow down a little.
Actually I think you have that backwards. Duty Finder is expressly there for players who haven't got a group, to find people to group with. It's not there to provide for farming runs. If you want to farm content, use PF to find like minded players and speed run things to your heart's content. Duty Finder provides an avenue for new players and old who don't have a group to run the dungeons - as intended. Duty Roulette even more so as that is really targeted at giving new players a chance to run older content - hence the enhanced reward for running it to attract veterans. Those new players won't benefit from a speed run, a newbie tank (for example) gets nothing from a dungeon were the other three players drag them around like a puppy on a leash.

Dungeons are all the same; trash that does negligible damage on route to a boss encounter. Be it Xelphatol, Ala Mhigo or Antitower. All that changes is the aesthetic and a few mechanics here and there. When the new 4.1 dungeon releases, I'll be able to pull the room day one more than likely. So after a couple runs, it just becomes "another dungeon." Why wouldn't I want to speed that up a bit?

I don't mind speedruns. When i tank, i start off slow and if the dps/healer can take down the packs i pull then i go faster. If they struggle then i go at a slower pace. Feels wasted if i go slow and i know the group can take down everything quickly.

So you can look around and explore it? So other players who *can't* pull the room have a chance to explore it? I totally get that there are many players who prefer speed runs. If that's your preference, that's what Party Finder let's you do. Duty finder ensures that you are randomly matched and there is a decent chance of new players or players who don't like speed running. So speed runs should never be the expectation in Duty Finder. If I were to join your party through PF, I'd expect to do speed runs, I would understand the expectation is that we will pull as much as Miqo'tely possible as we go, and I won't complain at all about that - and I wouldn't expect more than one second chance to step up or be asked to leave if I can't keep up with the group. But in DF, people really need to chill.

If the group can handle the speed running, sure why not. If someone requests a slower pace, then go for slower. All runs are situational, and can be adjusted with a few pleasant words. Sadly, 99.99999999999~% of the people I meet in DFs NEVER speak aside from "Hi" and "Thanks for the run"/"tyfg".

It really depends on the circumstances for me. If it's one person trying to speed run the dungeon over the others, then that's annoying as hell. Especially if it's a DPS trying to solo the entire dungeon.

Personally, it's all a part of playing a multiplayer game. Just speak up if the group is moving too fast, but be polite about it. If they agree to slow down, cool. If not, either put up with it or leave and find another group after the penalty runs out.

If you absolutely don't want to ever run with people who want to run at a different pace than you, use the Party Finder. It may take longer to get into the dungeon, but that's the price you pay to have it your way.

Having preferences that don't match with the preferences of others is one of the oldest causes of conflict in human history, this game is unfortunately not immune to that.

I don't do the largest pulls possible unless with a healer buddy, but I do tend to pull large packs in dungeons. There's just no point in using CDs for 3 enemies, it's a waste. It's not really about speed-running per se, it's just about being efficient with CDs imo.

I guess the only way to solve the dilemma is to become a tank. Then if people want to die they can go running off at top speed. I guess I will start learning that job.
