    Materia Melding vs stat build up

    has anyone tested and or figured out what stats best help doing multiple materia melds i am trying for the Gamblers crown but cant get past the third meld when i attempt the fourth i always bust

    Nothing affects success rates aside from the tier and grade of the materia used and the quality of the item being melded (HQ/NQ). The rest is all luck.

    I like to think that SE just *might* be a little more cunning than this. I have no hard evidence nor crafts high enough to meld, but it would not be hard for SE to have implemented a HIDDEN Melding Skill not unlike they did with Chocobo Digging in FFXI. That being said, all you can really do is keep melding materia and knock out the achievements at the same time.

    You know how it lists a success percent? Nothing you do will increase that given the same materia + meld item. I think it would be a real dick move if SE made something that increased it, thus making that success percentage a total lie. I know SE likes their hidden stuff, but I don't believe they've ever intentionally a success percentage a flat-out lie.

    SE will be making it so other people can meld your stuff in the future, just like others can repair your equipment. Would it be very fair if the success percentage wasn't identical for all players? No, it wouldn't.
