Need help with MNK opener (PB and 5th GCD prob) [Newbie MNK, first time FF player]

Hello guys, I need help with my opener. I can't insert my 5th GCD (True Strike) before Perfect Balance ends. Not sure if this is a latency issue but it annoys me very much. Second problem is, sometimes i lose my GL stacks at the end.

Here's my opener: Demolish >PB> Snap>Snap>Diversion>DK>Infusion of Strength>TwinS> ROF>IR> True Strike (this is where PB drops and cancels True strike animation midway= no damage)> Forbidden Chakra>Brotherhood>BS> EF>HF>Truestrike>Demolish> (sometimes GL stacks drops here)Steel Peak>Fire takle

Demolish>PB>Snap>Diversion>Snap>Infusion of Strength>DK>ROF>TwinS>IR>Forbidden chakra>True strike (this is were PB drops and cancels True strike animation midway= no damage)>Brotherhood>EF>BS>HF>Steel peak>True strike> Fire tackle>Demolish (sometimes GL stacks drops here).

I tried inserting Bootshine instead of Truestrike for the 5th GCD and it works much more effectively. Am I doing this right? Is Bootshine a good replacement?

    Thanks in Advance

Try hitting Perfect Balance RIGHT before Snap Punch. Don't mash it as soon as you can. The extra half second might be all you need to squeeze in that last gcd.

If that doesn't work, maybe don't try double weaving the RoF/IR. Move the diversion, infusion and IR one GCD earlier.

If the first method does work and you still drop your stacks, maybe replace the True Strike with Demolish. You'll clip the first one a bit, but you'll be clipping it with a DoT buffed by IR, RoF, and an infusion.

    Thank you Stomoman,

Yes i am delaying PB like 3/4 before Snap punch is available but it doesn't work. ROF/IR double weave may be the problem here, I will test that out and let you guys know.

I don't have a good ping for double weave, here my opener

(With potion, i use diversion after the first snap punch)

It's not the best opener, but i never lose my true strike or gl3 with it. It also give me 2-3 sec before gl3 drop, to avoid aoe if needed

@Mattjack Thanks for the suggestion man, I will try this as well. Cheers

@Stomoman So I did some testing and yep the problem was definitely ROF+IR double weave. My latency just couldn't get that true strike 5th GCD. And the 2nd problem that was causing me to fall off my GL stacks was over pressing The Forbidden Chakra into meditation. So, I practiced the 2nd opener I posted above without over pressing TFC, 50/50 success (I still need to practice more ).

Anyways, I have a follow-up question for all of you guys. When you do your openers, do you wait for the full animation of a skill to kick in before pressing the next one? Or, wait for the starting animation of a skill then inserting the next? Like as in weaving. This is where I get confused and make mistakes. There are times that I pressed a skill (esp oGCD) a couple of times (or maybe even more) it doesn't execute and does the next skill instead. So, how do you "weave" exactly?

What is your Skill speed now. Maybe adding alittle bit more Skill speed help? You can always try it by eating food that add skill speed and hit a dummy..

http://ffxivrotations.com/z60 <-- this is my opener without double weave. you can try it.

You don't want to be activating Riddle of Fire so early. TBH due to how other classes' raid-buffs line up, you are better off delaying all off-global usage until AFTER your True Strike (you should be using Riddle of Fire right as Perfect Balance ends)
