Attacking healer!
Then do it two more times, if you think you need to. There you go.
So we need the chat backPre-season isn't good enough for the FFXIV community. Too many people don't know how to play 4v4 pvp. I've seen tanks picking up defense buffs (nobody is going to be attacking the tank in the first ~1.5 minutes of the match, so that's 1.5 minutes of the buff going to waste), melee DPS limit breaking targets without calling out they are using it, healers who stand in the open, healers casting their attack spells when someone is dying next to them, tanks not helping by stunning the healer properly etc. I've seen people call out at the beginning of a game "Attacking ranged" but then the ranged class comes out with a defense buff, well great, switch to the melee or the healer then, don't waste your time attacking the person with the defense buff.... People don't know how to think dynamically. They probably need a guide.
I've never seen a pvp community an MMO as bad as the one in these game. I can't figure out why.

And we've come full circle.
Lots of new players who don't know what to do, and a limited quick chat system that does little to change that and is barely useful for its intended purpose, not to mention rather annoying. And did I say limited?
Also little to no effort on SE's part to help people learn, even after oversimplifying the PvP combat system entirely. . . Whoever's handling development and management of PvP in this game. . . please stop.
And you are absolutely correct. However I think with a major expac there was so much to do leading up to the Season that queues were abysmal. Top tier players weren't queuing as much and frontlines provided more exp, so feast wasnt attractive to the Feast casual. I think for Season 6 it will be a lot smoother but for Season 5, I think launch was done poorly.

That's also a great option and idea. Having unranked allows players to practice and top tier to feast without worrying about losing points.
And you're right. Another idea could be unranked against unranked only. Or even adding, let's say, Copper rank. Where people have to achieve a minimum of 100 points in order to play in real ranked matches. This would force people to win a minimu of 4-6 matches before progressing to the real tiers. I just think it is important to protect silver/bronze players from the unranked. Also, I feel as though 8v8 can't properly prepare folks for 4v4. Because of the lack of role restrictions.
Another idea is to implement 4v4 training mode with role restrictions. I think queues would suck so, it could be incentivized with something like cracked clusters or w/e for the winning team. This would at least allow those players that want to play ranked an avenue or training and they could play 20-30 matches with people who want to win and properly train. Then they could step into ranked. Or just make the current 4v4 ranked where unranked play other unranked only. Either way I still feel something needs to be done.
