Fate bots in the game

Yeah bots are horrible, I reported a bunch of them last couple of days but it probably falls on deaf ears I'd imagine. I still see the same people there even right now.

I love FATE bots because if there were no FATE bots, FATEs would be empty around this point in the expansion. When the FATE bots are not up, FATES in every zone are empty and there's nothing I can do about it because I cannot solo them at 61-62. They hurt literally nobody, if anything they make life easier for everyone because FATEs can be completed faster. To be clear, I'm not saying FATE bots are good, I'm saying HAVING FATE bots around is totally good, who can even argue when there are other bodies to take aggro from you and complete the FATE in 1-2 minutes with 0 risk of dying instead of 6-10?

FATEs scale with how many players did them the last time round. So it's not making it faster for anyone.

There's also a lot to be said for while the rest of us aren't playing the game because we're sleeping/working/learning/having a life outside the game, these people are literally cheating, earning experience and progressing past what would be humanly possible because they are always online while the rest of us play by the rules.

I never really understood the attraction of letting a game play itself, anyways...

Not that I agree with the usage of bot, different people enjoy the game differently. Some people like to play their character, some people enjoy being the top in something, some people enjoy having high numbers, and some people enjoy having gils even though it's objectively useless in the game.

I can see why some people prefer botting when their purpose is different.

This honestly annoys me to the point where I don't even want to level with FATEs in a zone if there's any bots around.

Knowingly benefiting from their existence in any form or fashion really bugs me.

Yeah, Fringes zone is full of bots that you can be 100% sure about. By not banning these accounts, S-E are saying it's a valid way to play.

To be equal, players who don't bot, or can't bot on PS4, would need to be given free character level boosts, free gil, seals, materials, crystals, etc just for logging in, because the bots can get all that with zero human time spent while the owner of the character sleeps.

Imagine you work hard all day, and your coworkers aren't even at their desks, but they are getting paid more than you for doing nothing because a bot does their job and it works overtime all the time. Doesn't that make you feel like your time is being wasted doing things that right way?

It's also horribly immersion- breaking see swarms of bots behaving oddly. Isn't it fair to ask for an online game where every person is a real person, and it's a fair and equal environment free of cheats and hacks.

And not only that, but your boss says that you shouldn't do this, because it's against the rules. That's the biggest kicker.

Let's be clear : bots are wrong and mostly used by gil sellers to make gils.
A player using it because "FATEing or gathering is boring" or whatever reason is a cheater. This is in no way a valid reason to me : you do your gathering like everybody else, by riding your chocobo et actually playing. If it's boring, just cut the sound off and watch something at the same time (like Grimm which is equally as boring as gathering but surprisingly a fun watch in this case)

Policing by SE is and always has been a gigantic joke. How hard is it to create an in-game task force to simply hang out in key areas and drop the hammer on these bots and gilsellers? That monthly report on rmt is a load of complete b.s. when I can log in at this very instant and find offenders within 30 seconds. EASILY.
