FFXI was awesome for years. First abyssea was ok, but after that, no thanks. They really destroyed the game with that. Once they have xiv ready, i'm pretty sure the ffxi logon message will change to "have you heard about ffxiv? go try that. We're going to deduct 10,000 gil from you every day until you join ffxiv."

I quit FFXI too. Errrr... Sage Sundi quit my XI account for me.

Quit XI for this since open beta.

I also quit ffxi after the aby-bomb. The game went from good fun to rediculously easy in 1 mini-expansion. It turned into banging out all jobs in aby to magians trials and had little else to offer. Dyna is now a joke, WoE is all RMT and VW is just stupid.

Tried to play FFXI over the summer. 1-30 was no problem, but after that if you don't own abyssea the game pretty much tells you to get abyssea or leave. I don't like that. I don't like FFXI after Abyssea. FFXIV is fun.
I quit FFXI for FFXIV. Then I quit FFXIV and went back to FFXI after realizing XIV was the worst thing ever. After that I quit FFXI after realizing Abyssea was the worst thing ever, and now FFXIV is my main MMO. I still miss FFXI
Hurry up 2.0. Hell, the map remakes is all I truly want.

Yeah that about sums up what happened to me, but I ended up back here because I always saw the potential in XIV it just needed to be realized.
Wow nice summation of why I quit XI and gave XIV a second chance...
