Weekly Elite Marks Outdated

I've noticed a couple problems with the Hunt as it regards A Rank and S Rank marks from A Realm Reborn/Heavensward areas. People will often just come in, kill the mark and leave. No communication, no waiting for other people who want Allied Seals, nothing.

The other problem is you can only take an elite mark bill from each hunt board weekly. For people who are grinding Allied Seals for riding maps or Grand Company Elite's gear, this is a huge problem because of how slow the grind is for effectively outdated content.

I recommend reducing the time on elite marks to one day. If they're daily, you can finish off riding maps in one month instead of one year, and that makes it hurt less when selfish people kill off marks you were interested in joining.

Also, considering the rewards for slaying an A Rank or S Rank mark increase if you're in a party, perhaps you should consider making that relative to levels. Most players who still hunt are already level 70, so marks from older content die too quickly now. We don't need parties for non-Stormblood Hunt marks, but we're not rewarded well for soloing this content.

Off of dailies and weeklies alone I'm only two zones away from having all my riding maps. I wouldn't object to more seals per day but it's a small exaggeration to say it'd take a year as is.

There are seventeen areas that have riding maps you buy with Allied Seals. They cost 250 each. That totals to 4250 Allied Seals for all of them (which is 250 above the cap).

Doing the weekly elite mark bills gives you 100 Allied Seals per mark slain, which comes out to 43 weeks. That's 9 weeks short of a year, which you'd then adjust for each A Rank and S Rank mark you manage to get credit for (only 40 Allied Seals each), which is difficult because of what I've already mentioned in the original post.

There are seven more riding maps to get for Heavensward areas, except those cost Centurio Seals instead. Thankfully, those are easier to get because Hunt marks in Stormblood areas give full Centurio Seal credit, while Allied Seals can only be obtained from Hunt marks in the original A Realm Reborn areas.

The biggest problem is the fact you don't get Allied Seals from Hunt marks in the expansion areas, and/or the fact that people will just solo them and not wait for others. The difficulty in soloing these fights (or lack thereof) is a contributing factor to this.

You could always do the daily allied seal hunts as well, which brings it up to 548 allied seals per week, or a little less than 8 weeks (7.7) to buy all the riding maps, and that's also considering that you don't get a single S or A rank.

Nezerius already said this, but do the daily hunts as well. You can't just focus on the weekly marks if you want to make any real seals. You get 8 per daily hunt, and 20 per FATE for a total of 64 seals per day. Do that all seven days and you have 448 seals, plus the weekly hunt for another 100, you get two riding maps per week with 48 seals leftover for the next week.

Nobody told me you can get Allied Seals from FATEs. I guess it's wrong for me to be annoyed at the entire Hunt system as it applies to older content as well?

That was a badly worded statement on his part. Fates themselves don't reward allied seals but when you pick up some of the daily hunt bills, a couple of them are notorious mob fates instead of freely roaming mobs. Those are the fates he was talking about.

Be annoyed at whatever you want, Ceallach. You still are stuck at 64 seals per day on ARR vs >150/day from all the daily hunts combined for centurios for instance. But if you limit yourself to weeklies then that's just slowing yourself and then you're the only one to blame there.
