I strongly support both. The issue I commonly run into though is purely one through misunderstanding. People feel as if ERP and RP never coexist, that it's either good story telling with developed characters, or mindless design tropes doing the deed. They casn both exist in the same genre. I enjoy ERP as much as regular RP, though for my part of it I enjoy slice of life RP and typically that ends in the bedroom. It doesn't have to mean anything, or cross new territory, or even progress the plot because in slice of life, there really isn't any constant plot that necessitates progression. It's just fun to write, and erotica is just something to write about.

Additionally one thing that people misunderstand about ERP is they believe it to be proxy sexting. Which is profoundly untrue, and it always gives me a disgusting taste in my mouth when people say it -has- to be with a girl IRL or a guy. Which completely negates the entire purpose, and makes it downright creepy.

If I can get on my soap box for a second, ERP has never been about sexting Tinder style, it's simply a narrative, a written story between two authors involving characters. It's no different than if a male artist drew a sexy female, or if a female drew a hot boy. The subject that is created matters, not the actual creator in this instance. That's where people seem to misunderstand and a lot of unwarranted hate comes from. People believing ERPers are just people trying to pretend they're getting with someone they can't get in reality. Those kinds of ERPers give honest to god writers, people who try their best everyday to improve their craft a bad name and a bad stigma.
