Who are all these people that are apparently ERPing in public areas? I've literally never seen this.

99% of the time, the people who are "ERPing" in public are trolls that are being jerks just to make roleplayers bad. There are of course those exceptions, always, but more often than not, they're not actual roleplayers.
The problem is, when non-RPers see these people - they tend to just figure that they're normal roleplayers and have no idea of boundaries, so it leads to a lot of rumors about how RPers are.
Again - there are still actual roleplayers who are just creepy and gross and choose to ERP in public around people, but they're such an incredible minority of the overall community.

I've seen it once on Balmung and I hope I never do again. They were at a camp not too far from the aetheryte. I went along my merry way of course, because I didn't want to be subjected to erp in /say text.
I don't think it's weird or wrong to RP in public regardless of server. Most servers are dead in /say chat and RP'ers would make the dead zone alive again. Reporting them for it is beyond words, just play a 1-player game if you don't like it. The one thing I'm frustrated about is the fact when I encountered a black mage. Holy macros he was like "I, member of Fairy Tail, shall vanquish this evil with my Thunder 1" so he kept spamming that ability. I mean ik that laxus is a thunder mage but my god don't use thunder and thunder 2 and 3 the whole dungeon run lol. Then again I did meet a Dark Knight that used Bankai whenever she went into darkside mode lol in the end it was 23 bankais during one of the expert dungeons.

to clarify (since you apparently need it), i said that erp should be bannable, meanwhile normal rp is fine.
you realise that not everyone who does rp or erp is on balmung right?

Nothing against RP and ERP, aslong as its not used to harass other players.

So I was solicited for ERP yesterday. Some random kept asking despite me saying no, so I logged out for a bit. It was a pretty weird experience :/
Please don't ask random people to ERP. Especially people who aren't even rping to been with.

I've seen RP but very rarely so on Hyperion. I don't doubt its there though, with FC's like Lust around and Tepe's FC. Never really indulged it but I'm sure its fun. I don't think there's anything wrong with it. People just playing how they want to play game and who is in the right to tell them to do otherwise.
Uhm, hm. As far as ERP. I don't think people should put it into say unless they are in a private home or something. Also if someone says no, its probably not in the best interest to pursue. It's like a certain religion coming to your door everyday even though you said no thanks. There's boundries there and its best to just go about it with the consent of others or be seen as a minor annoyance throughout the day.
But RP should be left to do as they please. In say or whatever. If you don't like it black list or move on.
To me I've just thought of some RPers like NPCS about to do an event or something. Like a FATE about to spawn. I either listen or just move on because its that simple. lol

I think it's alive and well, but it's one of those things that it's alive within our communities only. I've tried taking regular non erotic based RP to public areas for people to jump into the fun, and I can say only once a random jumped in to have fun. The rest of the time people just say in /shout "Go back to Balmung!" or some trolly/harassing things. It was worth a shot, but I'm not about to put myself where I'm not wanted when I can have just the same fun in my mansion. Anyone who is interested in RP is more than welcome to visit and they won't be turned away as long as they put an earnest attempt!I've seen RP but very rarely so on Hyperion. I don't doubt its there though, with FC's like Lust around and Tepe's FC. Never really indulged it but I'm sure its fun. I don't think there's anything wrong with it.
