    The random topaz carbuncle that randomly appears in different spots in idylshire? Is it ever explained?

    It's a "wild" carbuncle and a friend of the pink miqo'te girl who lost their parents(don't remember her name but it was sayed in the Zhloe quest chain).

    It seems this carbuncle sensed the lonelyness of the miqo'te girl and decided to befriend it to brigthen her mood.
    You can see them together in the garden with the fountain by nighttime.

    It's explained in the anima weapon questline. It's one of the NPCs in the questlines carbuncle. You only get this dialog once you finished the anima quest that involves these 2 NPCs.
