cool story for family friendlyness but i think this is first hand proof that there isnt nearly enough (and i NEVER thought id say this about video games because im no trucker/sports/FPS/beer/metal head/anti fashion enthusiest) Bad-ass anything in this game.

if there were, then a parent wouldnt be particularly proud their 8-9 year old daughters were having the time of their lives while im sitting here going "where the hell are the hordes of angry looking monsters i normally enjoy AOE murdering? oh well more screen shots of my EM looking sexy.... 5 mins later /logout."

That's pretty cool to hear about kids that age interested in an MMO though.

We're not killing them, we're making them "unconcious" so they "sleep", that's why if you wait 5min, they reappear^^

Also they both have psp-go's that have some cartoons on them, LBP, modnation racers, puzzle games, a couple rpg's, etc, and they are by FAR the most used, for long car rides, in the evening to calm down, kill time, etc. They get a ton of use.

And that's not to say they never go outside, they're out all the time, be it playing in the snow, kickball with the neighbor kids, tag, riding bikes, swimming, etc.

And I just realized that they've come up to me in game and are throwing snowballs at me, so I guess it's back to that for a while.

OMG! How good it was to finally see a post worth responding to! I play with my entire household LOL. That includes my husband, my twins and our 14 year old. We have a lot of fun doing things together and it really brought us all closer, spending so much time together playing. It is a LOT more fun playing with people you know.

I have to say the FFXI was the game they broke me in on. Before that I never played video games much, much less an MMO. I pretty much stuck with Tetris or Jewels. And like most wives, gf's, etc.... I hated video games like MMO's because everyone spent so much time on them and not with me or together as a family. But out of boredom (I had major surgery and was laid up for 5 weeks) my two oldest started me on FFXI because I liked watching them play. Once I got the hang of it I was off! I even leveled ahead of them and was helping THEM out ingame LOL. I can honestly say that "If you can't beat them, join them" works. No fighting, bad feelings or forcing them not to play in order to have time together. Instead of board games or movie night, we just added in video game night.

Now we have all moved on to 14 and included our 14yr old and things are great! Sure we still have busy RL things to do... but instead of hundreds of dollars on movie night or grumblings over board games... we just gather together on the latest and greatest MMO's ^^.

I'm kind of envious of all the family's that ban together and plan MMO's together I used to have real life friends that played FF11 with me then they went on to the new fab and I stayed playing 11. Meet tons of wonderful people in 11 and even meet my gf from it and now after a year of pressing and buying it for her I got her to start playing 14 with me and it nice to spend time together even if its in a virtual world

Teaching proper party dynamics is super difficult... But if I get them when they're young, they won't be nubs when they grow up!

I love to hear that other people do the same thing, I'm glad to hear it. And with all the jobs at different levels, you have a better chance of people being able to do things with each other.

I guess it depends on how much your daughters already know about the world..
