I play with my sister, and my daughter has joined me a couple of times. Daughters new computer can probably run it so I think we will load it up tonight or tomorrow.

Out of context, sure, but any game you play these days involves killing monsters. It's not like they play halo or call of duty where they're killing other people in simulations of real life, like their friends are doing.

I actually find the imagery quite endearing, and probably fun. I can imagine this on a cold winter night, snowed in by a blizzard with a foot of snow at your doorstep,a fire roaring in the living room, and mugs of hot chocolate.

In other words MMO > FPS

I once thought it would be fun to bring my mom into FFXIV so she would finally understand the joy of playing MMORPGs..looking back now, I'm happy that never happened.
When you are 8 or 9, it may be fun to play with your parents, but not when you already moved out and would go crazy about your mom telling you to go to bed instead of keeping on playing

I like your story, but I'm not very supportive of children playing video games, so if I had children that age, I wouldn't let them play with me and they wouldnt get an PC either.
Maybe for their 14th birthday or something..

My 9 year old plays MMOs, just not 14, she actualy plays Champions and loves it to death.

I personaly dont see 14 as a "really young kid" friendly game as opposed to several of the lighter themed games out there(superheros are perfect for kids after all!)
