    Promised, though never delivered... (/assist and other "small"' details)

    The previous development team promised (and the current one claimed they wanted to deliver what had been promised) to add certain features, at the very latest, by the first update this year. Three updates have come and gone, and these promises remain unfulfilled:

    * an /assist command
    * a delivery system
    * a messaging system that could be accessed both in-game and from the lodestone

    What do you think about these undelivered additions?

    I, for one, still hope to see these promised (and essential) goodies soon.

    an /assist command would help tremendously when in a large group and being surrounded by multiple mobs aggressive or not. Another simple but essential feature that I miss from FF11.

    I am with you there. Conceptually the idea is simple and effective. Besides, with the idiotic ball they call a targeting icon gets lost easily when cure is being spammed non stop. /assist would be excellent to switch to current mob. I just wish they would spend less time and energy on a target icon that spins and is hard to see in a big battle. Like you said, just because a concept in FF11 that would carry over to FF14 is a good idea doesn't make it FF11, it is a testament to all of the wicked nuances that made FF11 so good.

    PS. please drop the silly ball u call a target icon and make it simple and visible in all scenarios. Thank you ^^

    <bt> macro targeting. Now if only the OP had tagged this thread right so the devs would actually see it.

    I'll gladly edit or re-start it... if you explain to me what, in your view, would be adequate tagging.

    One question about <bt> targetting, though: Is <bt> viable in a game in which mobs attack in parties? If it is, enlighten me, please. I would very much appreciate its comeback and would gladly push for its return.

    As a matter of fact, not only <bt> but <st> and all its varieties, and of course <lastst>.

    :-)

    points 1 and 2 I'll agree on. However I'd much rather see in-game chat and reply commands fixed well before out-of-game luxuries are thought up

    I agree with you. It's just that the delivery system and the inter-player messaging system were mentioned as separate when the old team indicated they were upcoming. The former was planned for the last update of last year, whereas the latter was promised for the first update of 2011. The only reason for the differentiation, it seemed to me then, was that messaging was meant to be a more complex system, since it included off-game interaction. I quoted like that just so people could remember the mention, not to press for the off-game part.
