Multiboxing against ToS?

Hello, I'm not exactly sure where to post this, but I was wondering if running two accounts and performing the exact same action simultaneously is considered against ToS or not?

I have run into a situation where a player on my team was controlling two characters in a PvP instance at the exact same time. I recorded the player and it is clear that the player was either running a script or abusing some sort of bug that allowed him to run actions on two accounts at the same time.

If this is against ToS? Where is the appropriate place to report this and how can this be prevented in the future?

Multi-boxing is not against the TOS. However, I believe using scripts to make two characters simultaneously preform the same actions is against the TOS. I would double check the TOS before filing a report.

Multi-boxing is allowed if you're manually controlling both characters, but if you could tell he was using the same actions at the exact same time, then it doesn't sound like that's what you saw in this case.

Using third party software to automate play is against ToS, and that would include using it to automate a second character to mimic the actions of one that you're manually controlling.

Well, there are also ways to sync keyboard and mouse input across multiple computers, not sure about applications but it very well could have just been something like that as well. I wouldn't call that situation hard evidence of script usage or a bug.

It seems like this could be accomplished without any software somewhat. 2 computers. Monitors next to each other. One using controller. the other keyboard and mouse. Would be very busy. But very possible.

I use software at work that allows computers to share a keyboard+mouse across a network, and it has an "all computers" mode that could do something like that. It's just a little App that you can download from Microsoft for free.

Truth of the matter is, unless the player explicitly stated "I'm using a botting program with multiple accounts," there's unlikely evidence enough to take any action, regardless of what or how they were doing.
