Let us commission screenshots as paintings

I've thought about this too, I'd love this feature! I understand they don't want people to add their own images from the outside world, so maybe it could be like the Sims, taking a photo (screenshot) with some sort of ingame camera feature and using it as a paint (?)

Personally, I'd love it if I could take screens with my friends and keep them as a memory in my house.

While I can't see this happening, an alternate option would be for some kind of tool like /gpose, wherein you would take a snapshot and then pay a fee in gil to have it turned into a painting to hang in your house. This way you could have self portraits, paintings of the whole FC together, etc.

It would all be done client-side, and there's no way it could be used as a violation of the ToS.

Awesome idea on paper and can be done (BnS profiles, Aion and TERA Guild symbols, CS:GO Sprays) but you will end with people using it for pornographic stuff and SE will be forced to shut down the system (also the size and quality of the pic will be low).

I wish. But SE has so many non sense restrictions and bad customization issues in this game i doubt we'd ever get the joyous painter idea. Such a shame.

This is a good point. Who's even going to see your lewd self portrait hanging in your house besides yourself and maybe a few members of your FC?

If we don't have systems like this because of the potential of misuse, we should get rid of the chat box since I can potentially use it to call people a *** ******* who likes to ***** and *** the Lalafell ramen.

Because SE doesn't want to step out of their comfort zone and some players might get their e-feelings hurt with a pic that could be reported, and dealt with, giving the pic owner a sanction like B&S did with profile pics, removing your priviledges to change profile pics.

This already happen in others games (Aion, TERA and BnS) and they shut down the system for a time and limited it a lot once reinstated.
