In a game where items/gear aren't really THAT rare or hard to get then all you are left with to set yourself apart from everyone else is who does it first, who does it best, and who does it fastest.

Why do you want to set yourself apart from everyone else? You must have a pretty sad life if you need to be better than everyone else in a videogame to be happy, just sayin'.
