    Earthly Star macro issues

Im using an /ac "Earthly Star" <t> macro that has been failing me lately. I usually drop on the boss and even though I have him targeted and I'm dpsing it will still drop where I am which is sometimes far away. Really annoying and has screwed me a lot. Anyone else having this problem or tips on how to stop this? Maybe I'm doing it wrong lol

    Try this:

    /micon "Earthly Star"
    /ac "Earthly Star" <t>
    /ac "Earthly Star" <t>
    /ac "Earthly Star" <t>
    /ac "Earthly Star" <t>
    /ac "Earthly Star" <t>
    /ac "Earthly Star" <t>
    /ac "Earthly Star" <t>
    /ac "Earthly Star" <t>
    /ac "Earthly Star" <t>
    /ac "Earthly Star" <t>
    /ac "Earthly Star" <t>
    /ac "Earthly Star" <t>
    /ac "Earthly Star" <t>
    /ac "Earthly Star" <t>

Just beware that macros cannot be queued, so if your Earthly Star does not get placed for some reason, you know why.

I have noticed this phenomenon with Shadow Flare, Sacred Soil and Asylum as well. If I click on the macro too fast after another ability, the targeting reticule will appear somewhere else, and not on my <t> and I have to click it again. It will place it's effect on the <t> target though.

This has never happened in HW btw. Only noticed it since SB started. I'm using a controller.

I have my earthly star macro set up to cast on the tank so it's something like /ac "earthly star" <p2>. You could probably do the other like that also.

I don't know much about macros in this game and how they work as they always felt clunky compared to WoW's system; why would this solve the problem?

Since macros cannot be queued which can be a DPS/responsiveness loss, using only a single line makes it hard to time the button press. Having a macro with repeating lines means it executes each line immediately after each other. You have a higher chance of timing the macro properly with 14 lines.

When I played Bard and Machinist for Alexander Gordias/Midas/Creator Savage raid, both BRD and MCH had cast times on their weaponskills. It was awkward to place instant-cast ground target abilities. These types of macros made placement of BRD's Flaming Arrow and MCH's Rook/Bishop Turret placement a lot smoother while you are casting. A lot of the top BRDs and MCHs in our community adopted these types of ground targeting macros for instant-cast abilities as well.
