It's not like other people being able to get the gear is the issue.

The main issue I'd see with tickets allowing you to get past seasons gear is that if they set it to say.. I dunno we'll say 10 tickets for the gear, okay. What's the point in bothering with ever getting top 100 at all then? What's the point in being competitive at all? Just get Bronze/Silver and coast a couple seasons till you get it. That breeds a bad atmosphere where hardly anyone will care.

Like right now if (we are assuming here right?) the weapon from top 10 is the same as the ticket weapon, this devalues top 10, Why bother getting top 10?

If you had to get top 100 just to get tickets then it might be fair, but if all you need to do is meet a tier a couple of times. It doesn't look like it would end well.

There aren't really any assumptions here. It was already confirmed that the weapons were specifically made to be bought with the tickets, not made just for the top 10. It's just that the top 10 get enough tickets to buy a weapon at the end of the season.

Isn't that obvious? You'll get enough tickets to buy one of the weapons. Meanwhile, anyone outside the top 10 will have to wait another season. And if you're skilled enough to reach the top 10 during this season, you should have a good shot at reaching the top 10 again, getting you enough tickets to get a second weapon, while everyone else will only have enough for just one.

But you don't have to get top 10 at all to do that, just participate every season to get enough tickets. You never have to touch top 10 at all. do a lot of people even have more than one main or the want for more than one weapon? Couldn't they just participate each season for said weapon? What does it matter whether you get it this season, next season or even in three seasons if you can always get it eventually?

I personally have no need for two weapons so I can't quite see the point in my getting top 10 just for a weapon I can get by participation, a lot of extra work that isn't really worth the reward.

Well yea, because the ticket system is designed to be separate from the actual ranking.

You're playing an MMO that allows players to play every single job on a single character. Yes, there are a lot of players that play multiple jobs. Yes, there are a lot of players who would want more of those weapons for glamour.

What does it matter whether you get it this season, next season or even in three seasons if you can always get it eventually?

What does it matter whether someone gets an expensively crafted glamour now, or 6 months from now? What does it matter whether someone gets a v4s weapon now, or 6 months from now? Being able to show off something unique, and being 1 of the 10 players in a datacenter that has something much, much sooner. That's a pretty big deal for a lot of players.

Then you clearly don't care as much for glamour, which makes me wonder if you find the armor set worth going for as well.

You realize his glamour is the top 100 gear from Season 1 of Feast, right? Glamour is a big deal, and what makes glamour even better? Glamour other people can't get. PVP is about winning, bragging rights, and respect---and it's built into the rewards system (I think that's great!).

He's saying that the top 10 reward should be more prestigious, but it's not, because it's something he (and anyone else) will eventually get just by participating. There's nothing to compete for at that high of a level, at least nothing worth the amount of skill/time/stress, so why try?
