It's just numbers it can be adjusted. There's a difference between something that's rough around the edges, and something that's so tremendously flawed as to wonder why it was considered acceptable enough to even consider.
Such as:
In what reality is a job that can inflict a permanent 15% vulnerability up acceptable in any way, shape, or form? This job would increase the damage an enemy (or enemies since it's a conal AoE as well) by 15% by it just being there.
I can understand that people who came from Final Fantasy 11 would like to see the class as it was in that game. But just like how red mage was a kind of jack of all trades in ff11, it had to fit the confines of ff14. A blue mage tank isnt just something out of the blueYou could even tank as a blue mage in ff11. Blue mage has always been tankier than the other mage classes and its lore of being hit to acquire skills fits with that of a Tank. I believe a blue mage tank would be a great addition to Final Fantasy 14.

I feel the same way about DRK, even more so now that it plays like a wet paper bag in a sea of razor blades.

I personally want to see more classes in this game with very high skill ceilings because, IMO, they're the most satisfying to learn and play.In an expansion where they tried to lower the skill level needed to perform all jobs, what makes you think designing a job with a drastically higher skill level is reasonable, especially a tank job of which they certainly want such a role to be as accessible as possible.
In essence 50 spells...you do realize not only the ridiculous burden of knowledge this places on the players, but the development and balancing of such a high number of abilities is ridiculous.
Don't we have enough faceroll easy classes as is?

You simply aren't going to get what you want plain and simple. There's no business sense in them even considering it. Again, they just dumbed down most jobs to make the game more accessible, and cited multiple times how they don't want the jobs to be particularly hard to play because they want to close the gap between player skill levels as much as they can.
If you want difficult classes to play then this game simply isn't for you.
I'm a big fan of Blue Mage on the series and, omg, i loved your concept of Blue Mage on ffxiv! I hope we would get something like your idea on the future!
